I just got an old bottle of Levi Garrett. The bottle was unopened, with the tax seal still firmly in place and the cork came out in one solid piece. However the snuff smells and tastes very musty. Would airing it out for a while be enough? Any suggestions? Thanks much.
Yes! It is that simple. The snuff at the top will have some corkiness to it. I would suggest taking it off and separating it, maybe using it for a flavored variety. The remainder I would not recommend disturbing but boxing only as necessary for use. A fresh cork might be nice but the original does hold sentimental value. What you have is something special that you are sure to enjoy. Congratulations!
Thanks Juxtaposer!
