must lower tolerance

Well, lately been indulging a lot, with snus, snuff, pipes and roll ups. Damn, didn’t want to get started with those roll ups again, and with high octane baccy too. So, the Nic tolerance is high. I am trying to lower it. Hence, today my first snuff will be after lunch. Yikes can I do it without yelling at people? Actually feel pretty good, not edgy, even after several coffeeeeees. Heh heh. Ok, maybe a little, a bit of a tickle in the tummy, a slightly distracted feel. Not as interesting as when trying to stop chain smoking, that oxygen high from not smoking was pretty cool. I guess I could hyper-ventilate for a bit. I’ll just wait to snuff until after lunch, and after my nap. I like to take a wee nap after lunch, just a few minutes does wonders. But today it is raining, so I would have to kick back in the car with windows closed. Too hot. Could run the air, but… Well either way, it is better than snoozing at the desk and have the bossola see me. Three Thistles strong or Stoker’s plain or ooh, I still have some NTSU, dried and ground, THAT should give a nice strong kick. I think the snus has been the biggest culprit in raising my tolerance. I’ve been using the General Xtra St. They are pretty stout. Only 2 or 3 a day though. Well that and the 5 bros rollies. Sheesh.

I’m sure that using 4 forms of tobacco doesn’t help with tolerance level. If you are going to do snuff, why not stay away from the scotches for a bit and do something a little less in nic?

I think snuff raised my tolerance, as before I did snuff, I tried snus, and it made me feel ill. Then I quit that, and did snuff, alot for a while, but when I kept getting stuffy, I wanted to try snus again, and that time, I never felt ill.

Same story with snus a tom , first time i tried it i was a bit sick. Not to mention how much General ES hit my guts. Now I’m mostly on snus and snuff , and do have an occasional smoke and it’s all good. My nicotine tolerance must be higher , but even if it is I’m just glad i don’t feel the need to smoke anymore, even if i’ve traded one habit for another :).

My tolerance level is to the point where I’ve started scouring the web for Nicotine based insecticides for my next fix. Ok, I’m almost joking, but between Snus, Snuff, rollies, you would think I’ve reached a happy medium. It’s not completely the case, but I do notice a packet of Bugler lasts me twice as long as it used to.

It’s because of this place that I even picked up pipe smoking! (snickers) Seriously though I have some RYO’s to get rid of and hopefully just make some epiphany and a cigar once in a while. Of course making snuff my main go to.

I’m at the point now where I rarely get a nic buzz unless I have a strong snus. In general the nic feel from snuff is present yet barely detectable to me. I can get it if I take a bunch but then, like Tom, I’d get clogged. I don’t know now how much snuff I’m taking each day either but I’ve been interested in this topic all along. I just know I’m snusing first thing in the morning, snuffing all day, and taking a snus in the evening (like now). If I pass on the snus at night then I’ll get a little buzz in the morning. I don’t think that I’d get a buzz from a cig now either. I’m not going to try even for the experiment of it. 8 snuses a day is -64mg+ of nic. I think that would be about 4 grams of snuff and I don’t think I take that much in a day. At any rate it’s way cheaper and the combo makes each form that much more enjoyable to me.

I haven’t had a buzz from snuff in… a very long time. Makes me sad.

D. white and scotches still give me a buzz.

Taxi, Ntsu, Dholakia Black give me a good buzz. Others, yes mostly scotches, also do but it only lasts a short time. I can get almost to Taxi like level if I shove enough schmalzler in, but they make my nose run a lot more. I’ve cut way back on any oral uses, I think that helps.

Having a snus in, and then taking a toot of snuff seems to give me a buzz for a little while.

The ONLY snuffs that give me a buzz are the American Plains I use, RR Mills, Square, 3 Thistle, and WE Garrett . And then only if I take a relatively large hit, or hits in close succession. I got into the RR Mills one night, outside in the dark where I didn’t quite see how much I had put on the back of my hand to sniff, and I had to sit down and thought I would be sick for a few minutes.

Speaking of buzzes, should alcohol based/named like rum & blackberry do that? or is that just the tobacco?

@squarefiend: Just the level of nicotine, regardless of the flavor-name of the snuff.

I can’t imagine taking RR Mills off the back of my hand. Even the thought of it is painful.

I’ll have to go with NTSU and Madras as the only two that I’ve gotten a real Nic buzz from in awhile. Suppose a huge bump of SP Extra would also do the trick. Gletscher and President, I do just for the Menthol, Camphor and Eucalyptus. It’s a nice clearout for the Sinuses. The Nicotine levels of those two seem to be nearly nil.

http://whyquit.com/whyquit/A\_Symptoms.html …I get withdrawal symptoms quite often. It’s not hard to overdo it with all the dosing methods nicotine has. I’m just glad I’m not a cigarette smoker.

Z_2K: Thanks. I thought it was just me. Like don’t snuff rum & blackberry and drive.
