Musinotabak

I received a sample from Jaap today as he has promised during the World Cup. Musino is a historical snuff which has been revived by Jaap. It’s made from fermented Virginia tobacco and flavoured with cinnamon, galgalant root, orange peels, fernambuk wood and water of elderberry blossom. Dark brown with golden specks, moist and VERY complex. But even so, the first thought that passed through my mind after the first pinch was: TOBACCO!!! Love at first pinch!

Sounds like a “must try” to me.

Considering how excellent the Hollandse Bolongaro and the Bon Bon are, I’m sure this will be another gold medal winner. When will it be available?

Man…I’m going to be broke(er) before all is said and done Indeed it does sound like another must try (he says as he takes a pinch of Bon Bon)

@Xander, it’s ready, you can order from Jaap.

Roger that, Pieter. The problem is the order I want to make with Jaap will leave me in Snifs state. There’s 4 or 5 De Kralingse snuffs I’d like to get a bulk supply of and still haven’t tried all the chocolate ones. I’m going to go count pennies and see what I come up with. I found 0.10 Rand in some Christmas Pudding, so that’s a start.

Hey! There’s a fancy new website at snuifmolens.nl. Wow!

The Bon Bon is superb so I’m really looking forward to giving this a try ! I presume “galgalant root” is “galangal root” ?

@ BardMajor, I don’t know, Jaap spelled it “galgalant”.

@ BardMajor & Pieter: Must be Galgant = Galangal is the same as the Indonesian Laos, was an error in reading old German writing. Jaap Bes.

Jaap wrote: “was an error in reading old German writing” Well hell…who hasn’t that happened to :>)

Man Jaap, the new site looks great!!!

Even Germans are having a really hard time reading old German writing. And if it´s Sütterlin - impossible.
