Mr.Snuff ‘nicotine level’

S

Have you found the ‘Nicotine Level’ rating on the Mr. Snuff website accurate? It’s not that I have found it to be inaccurate, but just whether it’s accurate enough to base judgments concerning which snuff to try when deciding between a few similar types. Specifically, have you found that the Wilson Irish High Toast 22, rated ‘high,’ has more nicotine than the Fribourg & Treyer HDT, rated ‘medium?’ thanks.

B

You can’t rely on reviews unless they are up to date[with in a month] . Batches change all the time. The person reviewing may have a higher or lower nicotine tolerance than you. Both are top rate High Dry Toasts. Unless you’re making a bulk 500 gram purchase; I say buy them both and rate them yourself.

E

Personally I’d reverse those two. But, in my experience High is usually High.

J

If there are lots of reviews, ignore the outliers. If there is only one or two, reserve judgment.

I’ve found them to be fairly accurate, but I’ve come to learn through the wonderful members here that nicotine level is perceived very differently by different people. I now prefer to just order a snuff out of interest for the scents or general interest, the nicotine level is a nice bonus if it’s there! I would say order it and find out for yourself! But to add my 2 cents, I’d say the IHT #22 is slightly higher for me.

To be honest I barely notice a difference in nicotine levels from one snuff to the next. I may get a “kick” from one over another, but I chalk that up to a combination of backing scents (i.e. menthol), amount I take, and frequency. Then there are physiological factors that I am sure play into rate of absorption. That said I do sometimes buy a snuff based on the review rating of nicotine level- perhaps out of curiosity.

I would say the rating is a general guide. One shouldn’t expect it to be exact for many reasons. It’s helpful none the less if one is concerned or interested in the nicotine levels
