Specifically they are looking for black and white line art that can be converted to a laser cut program for an ISTA logo to put on a wooden snuff box. They even mentioned a Coat of Arms (for you ambitious artists.)
I believe that the term “ISTA” and “International Snuff Takers Association” are both parts of Snuffhouse.org, and therefore belong to the owner of this site. I think you should consult him when using his property.
Okay. Whatever is used needs to be simple. A crest is one idea. But how about basing it on/around something that’s instantly associatable [if that’s a word!] with snuff-taking – a pinch. I’ve created a basic effort (attached) which I’ve reduced to minimum lines to make easier to cut by laser, and because anything too complex looks rather “muddy” on a small item.
Here in Yorkshire we have an old saying:- “I’ll take that with a pinch of snuff”

The ISTA name is now licensed to Mr Snuff.
Technically, Nigel transferred ownership of it to me in an e-mail posted several hours before his post above licensing it to Mr. Snuff. But what the heck… I’ll let Mr. Snuff have it too!

Unless royalties are expected, I’ll let you have it. The biggest benefit would be in sales promotion. Since I do not have partial ownership of Mr. Snuff, I would not get financial benefits. The permission granted to Mr Snuff was, explicitly, to use the logo on snuffboxes. He has the sole right of use in that respect. @howdydave - feel free, if you are so inclined, to develop the concept with a view to how an ISTA would work using this site. I will look at any suggestion objectively and discuss with you. @Mr Snuff - you have sole rights to use the ISTA logo on any snuffbox you may bring out. Snuffhouse, ISTA and any other designs or logos on this site remain my property.
I think dave might be the man for the job. He does know how to write which is one of the stumbling blocks here.
