Then I will begin.

A long ,long time ago  before I had acquired the snuff habit.   I met a politician on a train.    He was quite well known in those days.  

After producing his ornately engraved silver snuff box and bright red silk handkerchief, with great showmanship he took some snuff.

After he had replaced his snuff taking paraphernalia back into his pockets he pompously addressed his fellow travellers in the compartment.

He asked his captive audience if they thought snuff taking caused damage to the brain.

A little old lady in the corner replied     “Of course not,  anyone with an ounce of brain would not take it in the first place.”
