Mixing Snuffs :-O

Do youz mix snuffs? I just mixed 1/2 Bernard Aecht Albayerischer with 1/2 Bernard Zwiefacher and the rest equal parts of Old Mill Winter Solstice,Marlin Spike. Man what a nice mix. The rich flavors of the Old Mills with the Zwiefacher Peppermint and Menthol is just enough the perfect cooling effect. And the touch of Fruity Fig and Apricot from the Bernard Aecht Altbayerischer make this a nice combo!

Not often, but before the local Kroger stopped selling W.E. Garrett, I used to add just the lightest touch of menthol to it on occasion.  It really kicked the flavor up.

Never tried the US snuffs are they any good

@AlKindiSnuff, yes they are indeed.  In addition to the highly-regarded snuffs crafted by the two American snuff artisans who grace our forum ( @Michibacy, @chefdaniel ), there is a whole world of mass-produced American snuffs which have many a thread here.

Garrett is “the” American scotch, practically ubiquitous.  And it ought to be: theirs was one of the first ten trademarks ever registered in the US, in the eighteenth century.  It’s strong and tasty, and its relative ease of availability (in the U.S. anyway) make it an ideal (imho) introduction to scotches.  There is also a sweet version which some like; I think it’s merely OK.
Word of caution: many American dipping tobaccos are foolishly referred to as “snuff” but are not suited to enter the nostrils of man or beast.  Some people dry them out and/or grind them a bit more, then snuff them, but that’s a horse of a different color. Â
