Mislabeled Snuff

Have to ever popped open a tin and find the contents not what you ordered? Well I just had two tins from the same company.I won’t mention them now till I here back from the manufacture; but one flavor labeled Apricot was Cherry and the one labeled Vanilla is just plain. Does this happen often and at what manufacturer had you experienced?

Funny you say that, One of my tins of poschl gawith apricot seems to be way more mentholated than my other 2

once and it was still better then the time I got decaf that was labeled as regular coffee. That sucked.

That day sucked. I knew I was hooked on caffine that day.

WOS do that every now and then , my strawberry was some strange minty thing. I carry no resentment however.

I think I’d quite enjoy it. A sort of test for the olfactory skills.

Did someone say a snuff blind-tasting challenge?

Challenge Accepted

Would be neat if we could all get gathered for such an event! Otherwise one could just send out envelopes with little baggies marked with codes to sample from. I could pay a reasonable cost for a sampling kit. But exactly what is the specific challenge? Picking out flavors? Or idk, we could figure out something…

An 18th century product and manufacture (nod to Lakeland, etc.) is bound to make a couple of mistakes. Can’t take the human being out of this product. And that is one of the reasons why I love it.

@jack   i think the wilsons strawberry is supposed to be " minty " like that

i had it before and mine was minty also    i liked it but dont like real strawberries

@jpsks: Come to think of it , my memory’s shoddy. I may have had the raspberry. Either way , It smelled like Chinese mentholated rub-on and nothing close to raspberry so i just assumed it was wrong. Even so , you said the strawberry is supposed to be “minty” yet this fine gentleman has reviewed the strawberry as being non-mentholated: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILkTi00nrnc. Either way , I’m confused and tired , I need some sleep.

Wilson’s says, the Raspberry is actually raspberry, menthol, and eucalyptus. Kind of odd! Definitely NOT for everybody. But I’ve been known to hit it now and then. If you go to the Sheffield Exchange website, they disclose the flavorings and base tobacco of several snuffs, I think both some Wilson’s and some F&T’s. It’s unfortunately a very short list, but still worth looking at.

Ugh…the Wilson’s Raspberry is exactly as you described it Jack.  Definitely on my least favorite list.

The Strawberry should be without menthol. Its an excellent snuff. The Raspberry has menthol, but I’ve not tried it, making it one of the few Wilsons I’ve not had.

Yeah, Strawberry has no menthol or mint. I quite like it but there are plenty of WoS snuffs I prefer.

BTW, has the fellow in the above video review ever been a member of Snuffhouse?

@Sloth No, at least not under that user name, or anything similar.
