I’ve got 10+ metal bullets from Mr. Snuff. Lots of them are the same exact style, with VERY different traits. Some are loose, some tight, some distribute hardly any snuff, some OK, some are just completely worthless. Seriously, all but TWO are worth a damn. Since I’m a football fan and realized that going to an NFL game I would not be able to bring a metal bullet into the game I was like…plastic bullet! Ordered 4 of them last order and I want to immediately throw away all my metal bullets. Even if they are throwaways, the plastic bullets are WAY better. /bullet rant -ASOTW

I twist and turn on bullets - I have yet to buy any, reviews seem to be all over the place, and pricing is strange when one compares Mr Snuff vs Club Snuff vs ebay … I thought to check one of the head shops in town ( I work between the Three major universities in NC ), but know IF I found one it would be outrageously priced … I dunno - maybe I’ll pick up a few - as it stands i just carry a few small tins / travel jars in my pocket and discretely boxcar or knife bump …

Bullets in general suck IMO, that would be my last choice for a snuff taking method, for my daily carry I use a stainless steel turn tin (from Mr. Snuff) and the box car method, never failed me yet.

I work in a position where being discreet is an absolute must, so anything outside of a bullet (when they work right) is slow, messy and too obvious to those around me.

The first bullets I got were the glass and acrylic ones from Mr Snuff, and after enlarging the portioning hole, I’m pretty happy with their performance. The vials were a tad small and difficult to fill, but no great obstacle. I then ordered two different sets from an auction site, one aluminum, the other glass and acrylic. Both sets I was very disappointed in. The aluminum is just unusable for snuff. The air flow is insufficient, the portioning hole too small and for me, it’s too difficult to make adjustments without completely ruining them. The glass and acrylic ones had very nice, ample vials, but the acrylic fittings were poorly constructed, very loose and I’m concerned they’ll come apart in my pocket, spilling snuff. Fortunately, the vials will fit the acrylic tops from the ones I got from Mr Snuff. So, out of three bullet purchases, I have a set of two I’ve customized that I like a lot. Hopefully they’ll last me a while.

I do, as well. I’m very happy with my Posh brass bullets. Do they cost a bit? Yes. Do they work and will they last longer than I will? Yes again. Granted, you must still select a snuff that is capable of being dispensed from a bullet–not too moist and not too coarse. And like any bullet, overfilling them is a guarantee for frustration.

I do plan on giving the posh bullets a try because I’ve read a lot of very positive things about them. The biggest issue with the $6 bullets from Mr. Snuff is a complete lack of consistency, and absolutely zero regard to quality control. These things should be looked at and rejected by the dozens, or simply pulled from the shelf and replaced with a decent product. The sad thing is, they’re so cheap it’s not worth trying to return them from the US to UK…hell, it’s barely worth bitching about it on a public forum -ASOTW

My acrylic bullet from Mr. Snuff worked for, perhaps a week. The O-ring seized up and attempts to repair/replace it failed. I will say that the acrylic bullet I got from Toque over a year ago still works–I keep it in my pipe pouch as a backup in case I empty my two Posh bullets during a day out. If you wear jeans, two Posh bullets fit perfectly in the watch pocket. They take a little longer to fill than an acrylic (you need a screw-driver), but I kinda enjoy the daily morning ritual of loading them up with NB Madras (which dispenses perfectly from them). If you NEED to use bullets (as I do), the Posh bullets are a no-brainer, IMHO).

I have tried most types of bullets and my preference is the cheap acrylic ones from Toque. They are less than 3 bucks plus they are filled with snuff. I have some over 2 years old and they still work fine.

Just a quick comment on the bullet dial locking up…it’s just dried out or coated with a fine film of snuff. All I do it take the smallest amount of olive oil, dab it on my finger tip, and roll it around on the o-ring of the dial. Works for a couple of weeks with no issues, and it’s a 30 second fix. -ASOTW

I’ve had the same problem with metal bullets, just inconsistent, one works perfectly but most have issues and the portion size varies across all. Will give acrylics a go

Save your money and buy a snuffbox, I snuff openly . What people think is none of my business. Bullets never delivered the hit I needed.

I agree @basement_shaman , snuffboxes are way better. The only snuff that seemed half-way worth the effort was certain strong mentholated types. I have a glass/acrylic one, and it worked for a long time but was just annoying to me. Now the glass vial is a loose fit in the acrylic and the o-ring is very worn / shrunken… I took the vial filled it with Klostermischung and put a little cork in it. Now i just pour out little hits like that

I’ve found you can usually get two of the non-posh bullets into the jeans watch pocket too. Nice thing when they are in there you don’t have to worry about the twists working their way out or catching on something to spill into the watch pocket or all over as you pull the bullet out. One problem I ran into early was putting other things into the watch pocket too… Was building a deck and tucked some long screws into the pocket to have them easily handy. Ended up scratching the bullets pretty badly. Also agree with @A_Sniff_On_The_Wind that quality control is hit or miss on the metal bullets. I’ve got about 10 total in different colors and types (rounded nose versus the lip) so I can keep track of what is in it easier. 8 of them work fine… the other two are out of the rotation and just kept in case one of the others gets confiscated. Those two don’t turn right (twist or hole for the twist is oval more than round or not lined up properly for a good bump to be loaded. Got a nice snuff box from Mr. Snuff, but it turned out to be bigger than I can easily carry in my pocket. (Sure looks nice on my desk though. =) Does anyone have an idea how many grams of snuff a non-posh and the posh bullets hold?

-1 on the suggestion of using bullets with Coke. So I tried this and managed to get about 10mL into the bullet. The bump just ran out my nose and dribbled off my cheek. It did tickle a bit from the carbonation bubbles, but overall it was an unsatisfactory result.
