menthol snuff

Hello guys i had this radford english snuff wish is verry strong in mentol i liked the tobacco and amoniac in it but that hit of menthol is really strong especially its getting a bit cold over here and you feel like freezing lol has somebody exprienced this as well or is it just because of my first time doing it , thank you guys

Nearly all of the English menthol snuffs have a very sharp nose freezing menthol level. Indian snuffs tend to use menthol more sparsely.

@n9inchnails thanks, and really not sure about this but does menthol gives a runny nose and blocked nose? My nose still eritated because of that, but the snuff is amazingly good

Yes, it cools, giving a sharp burn / freezing sensation (which might be quite painful with larger doses) and a runny nose. Sometimes it blocks nose really bad shortly afterwards (the so-called “menthol rebound” effect).

I don’t remember the medication profile of this Radford in a metal tin, but other folks mention the presence of camphor there as well. Some other strongly medicated snuffs besides a copious amount of menthol contain eucalyptus oil. For instance, the tobacco base of Hedges L260 Snuff is doctored with 4.5% menthol and 4.5% eucalyptus essential oil:

Noteworthy, currently produced Hedges L260 is rather highly alkalized - its pH is close to 10. Such pH level is rendered by the addition of about 6% sodium or potassium carbonate. Water content - roughly 15%.

Similar snuff can be easily made at home.
