If you look at the top-bar menu under the Snuffhouse banner, you’ll see a lnk for “Members.”
This will take you to a members list that use sortable by user-name, date-of-last-visit, number of visits, number of discussions started, and number of comments on the message board. If you click on the number of comments in a member’s role, it takes you to a list of all of their comments. If you click on the number of discussions they’ve started, it takes you to a list of their discussions.
This members list is only visible to members (not guests). And it does not include email information. It could, but we have that turned off.
Anyhow, if you have any questions, post them here!
That list is awfully long .I don’t know how the sorting works but I found myself on page 30. Is it by when you joined date?
I would be interested if there was an exit poll for members that stop posting; automatically sent to them a month after last post. To find out if anything could be improved that would keep them here.
@basement_shaman, if you sort by “Comment Count” you’ll find yourself a lot quicker!
I’m not sure what the default order is when the list first comes up. It could be by join-date, but I haven’t really tried to figure that out yet. I just immediately start sorting when I get to it.
The list includes everyone from the snuffhouse.org incarnation of the message board. We’re currently looking at contacting those that haven’t visited the snuffhouse.com incarnation, and inviting them to come visit.
I don’t have the knowledge to set up an automated exit poll. But, something like that could potentially be done by hand to gather that information and perhaps bump up our retention rate. It is a good idea and worth considering, I think.
Anyone wanting to find another member quickly in order to private message them or write activity on their profile should probably just type their username in the “Search Snuffhouse” box in the left-hand sidebar of the message board. You’ll find them a lot quicker. Mark
Upon browsing, I see that there are now two accounts for me. I was with .org for a good while, then when .com went live, I tried to get into my old account and it ended up making me start a new one. Lost all my old stats in the process, though other long-time members were able to re-activate their old ones. I don’t suppose there’s any way to merge the old one into the new one?
@cpmcdill, off the top of my head I don’t know. I’ve never done it.
I’ll look at it though. Sort of a cool puzzle. I’m guessing it may be a database solution, and not a Vanilla solution. I might be able to figure it out either way, but no guarantees! I’ll private message you when I either figure out how to do it, or come to the realization I’ll never figure it out.
Thanks, @chris. It is not a first priority, but I’m going to keep it in mind…and try to see what I can do when I get a block of time to really delve into it.
@markstinson - Thanks for the quick reply. It is not causing me any problem so it is absolutely not a priority for me and I am sure that you have more important work to do here.
You have clearly been working hard on the forum over the past few days so thanks for all of that.
@Snuffbox. Yep, it shows that somewhat odd “November -1” instead.
This new snuffhouse.com message board contains all the old stuff from the snuffhouse.org message board, but the dates joined and last visit data from the old message board appears to have not made it over in the transfer. Instead, that “November -1” is there for both data points.
So, anyone who has a date joined of “November -1” it means their member profile orginated on the old board. They are old-school legacy members from before the switch-over.
Anyone who has a last visit date of “November -1” has not been to the snuffhouse.com board at all yet, and hasn’t visited us since the snuffhouse.org days.
