Hello Snuffer’s any one have had experienced medicated snuff and tell us about there overall benefits, like is it totally good for congestion runny nose and rebound nose … Thank you guys
I switched to medicated (menthol and/or eucalyptus) based snuffs about 2 months ago and find I am breathing easier. This might be a coincidence but I have also seen an increase in my O2 saturation readings (sleep recordings) via my FitBit - where I was 91/92% at the start of the year, I have been a pretty solid 96% for the past 6 or so weeks.
@Clem thanks, i see maybe it will be my next order, as my nose is still eritated and blocked all the time, even if im not really a menthol fun i have that radford that really didn’t work at all , thanks bro
You can get something like the Crystal, I think it’s by Janta, from MrS - which is a non tobacco menthol to use on its own or mix in with your favourite brand.
I use a pinch of Iron Goddess of Mercy every morning - a friend of mine now swears by Medicated 66
Your mileage may vary, but I have also stopped needing to use decongestants to clear my sinuses too
@Clem great i hated that decongestion otrivin it gives me a strong rebound that i still suffer from it till now, now I’ve got a corticoid nasal spray it works for alergy, alla im whaiting for is to stop that runny nose, i always notice a lot of old man snuffers while they use snuff and i see carfully none like not even a drop of runny nose lol i feel jealous as well, but i still work on it
I was also using Otrivin and had to stop because it can have some nasty side-effects - I had bad palpitations.
I now use Sterimar Hayfever & Allergy Relief every once a week to clean me out.
I feel if I use too much medicated snuff is like trying to breathe out of a straw. But when I get a tickly sneeze going on, a pinch of MED 99 sorts me out without fail!
Have you tried using a Neilmed nasal rinse bottle? You mix water and a sachet of salt that it comes with, I had really bad congestion the other night and it cleared everything out. The problem I find with nasal spray is that it works in the short term but in the long term it makes it worse.
@Tc2642 totally right now i just have corticoids nasal spray used for allergy its working, but as you said maybe not in ling term, i used while i was on snuff beach water it didn’t work as well, now i still thinking about something natural that could ho with, something like curcumin or ginger, but i still don’t know if its a good idea to put it in the nose i still searching , thanks bro
Salt bro, cumin or ginger would probably put you in a world of hurt.
@Tc2642 yeah lol well i said that as well, maybe eucalyptus could do the deal as is it the first ingredient of med 99
I used to struggle with congestion but committed to medicated snuffs for a month and they keep my nose clear with no rebound now. It wasn’t always that way, but once my nose got used to it it is perfect. I used to use toasts all the time and they always dry me out when my nose is runny, but make it clogged when my nose is clear. Medicated keeps my nose clear no matter what the circumstance. I mainly use German menthols such as Gletcherprise, but any menthol is awesome now. Originally I would not get any scent but burning menthol from even the mildest menthol snuffs, but after giving it a serious go for a few months now I enjoy menthol snuffs much more than non menthols, can get all of the flavor behind the menthol, and have an excellent overall time with them. Kind of a rant but wanted to give context.
I also struggle with allergies and after lots of different medications am now on Zyrtec and fluoxetine, but didn’t see real results till I switched to medicated/menthol. Really I just need to get away from palm trees, but that is a different story all together.
@SnuffMonkey as i know menthol gives a lot of runny nose and it ends up with blocked nose, and i just know the main ingredient of med snuff is eucalyptus and menthol, does it fix runny nose and blocked nose all together? And for alergy bro ask for that Risonel spray it helped me a lot
I’ll ask about that spray, Thank you!
As for menthol, it took me time to be able to use it to clear my nose. At first it irritated my nose but once I became accustomed to the burn it stopped triggering a rebound was no longer an issue. I started with a lighter, softer menthol and worked my way up till now even the strongest menthols don’t bother my nose. Some people suggest starting with Indian menthols because they are milder, I just don’t like the flavor of of the Indian menthols.
