Okay, Why don’t we talk more about this one? Here’s another underrated snuff. The citrus note is, to me, much stronger than in something like a Wilson’s or Toque original. It really is wonderful stuff…seriously considering a bulk purchase. I’m gonna try S’nuff, too…compare and contrast…

That’s good to hear cuz I just ordered a tin yesterday now I’m even more excites to get it

These have their own place as a SP, I find the SP just a tad too mild, although it has a silky feel I do like. The S’nuff is a bergamot monster and rates a bulk buy from me, although many do not care so much about it. It is a very heavy flavoring added to the S’nuff and that is what I like about it, it is a burst of citrus flavor, along with a very nice texture to the base tobacco. Sometimes it is not all about balance, it is about a great note of one flavor. These are responsible for me having an affinity for the line of McChrystal’s snuff in general, and I consider the Hopfen Schnupf to be sublime, as in all time top five.

I must’ve received an old tin of s’nuff cuz mine wasn’t that flavorful at all. Looks like I will have to reorder another tin to try. And the hops is definitely in my top five

my tin must’ve been somewhat old as well, I thought McC’s to be much heavier on the floral scents than bergamot…although my most recent go-to SPs were Toque SP Extra and Tom Buck, so I may be a bit bergamot traumatized.

I get loads of bergamot from Tom Buck, and from S’nuff… But I’m not sure what to say yet about SP Extra. I’ve started to adore Toque Original, which initially I was underwhelmed by. So it might be a grower for me. Maybe my old nose isn’t as sophisticated as some of these veteran snuffers, but I don’t sense that much bergamot in SP Extra. Smells like something else to me. Something very familiar, and I can’t quite put my finger on it… Watch, in two weeks I’ll be eating my words, just like my earlier comment about Toque Original. Toque is one of my all-time favorites, their Peanut Butter, their Cheese & Bacon, their Natural Toast, their wonderful Menthol, among many others, are all favorites. I’m sure SP Extra is a great one, just haven’t come around to it yet.

To me, SP Extra smells almost just like Clubman mustache wax. Love it

Didn’t get much from S’nuff. I suspect like others I had an old tin. McC SP, though, I like a a lot. A nice solid meaty snuff

Okay, I have to correct myself yet again. My tin of SP Extra was apparently incredibly fresh when it came from MrSnuff. Kudos both to Toque and MrSnuff for such wonderfully fresh snuff. But I have a bad habit: See, I like Toque’s snuff so much that I rarely give it the time to decant. I’m usually halfway through a tin before it starts smelling like it’s supposed to. So, SP Extra smelled a bit odd. Now I do get a magnificent rush of bergamot, and it’s delightful. I really love this stuff. So, once again, I must eat my words.

Complex and richer SP than many of the rest.  Similar to O&G in the way that the nutty tobacco flavor is delightfully present. Balanced bergamot along with a pleasant musky, slightly floral component that is the lavender.  Outstanding!

I love this snuff.  I bought the large (200g?) tub from McC and as far as SP’s are concerned it’s my go-to.  I think in general all McC snuffs have a similar grind that just suits me, and this is no exception; plus a good scent.
