McChrystal's grind

I’ve been trying some of their Anisette and though it’s nice, the super-fine grind is hampering my enjoyment.  I can’t imagine choosing this over the WoS version which I really like and is very easy to take.

Are all McC’s snuffs this fine?  I wanted to try others, like Whisky, Violet, O&G, and Hopfen Schnupf… but I’m a little wary now.

I’ve found O&G and Highland Ice to be a quite fluffy grind, in a fresh tin. It seems like the snuff has been aerated somehow and puffed up, its only when my tins go dry they loose this effect. I havent tried Anisette yet though some McC’s seem to be of a different grind (or some of their tins may have arrived dryer). Its been awhile since trying anything other than O&G and Highland Ice.

It has been awhile since anisette , but Violet is super fine the Whiskey and Hops are just fine { like a toast }. I am not a fan of Violet it has the tendency to over stay it’s welcome. I do use it as a mixer in small amounts.

If you are experiencing technical difficulties; try Hydrating the snuff for a few hours, this will expand the fine particles and make then much easier to consume massive amounts.

Thanks.  I’ve been keeping opened tins in an airtight plastic container with 65% humidity packets used for cigar humidors.  Seems to be working well, but I’ll try to hydrate this one even more.  Along with all the Toques I recently got.   >:P

I’m going to hop on this thread with a question off my own. Does the McCrystals raspberry and mild lemon have the same base?

@Chico the raspberry has a slightly fine, but fluffy grind if that makes sense. It’s on the finer side, but has some moisture to it.

I have the original flavour and find the grind to be so fine that it couldn’t get smaller. It’s like dust!  Not like the Poeschls that I am used to

@Psicko the usual McChrystals base I know and love has a distinct back drip that tastes like earl grey tea.
I’m not sure what McChrystals does with their grind though it definitely works great.
