I have been in touch with McChrystals with regards to their fruit flavoured snuff and whilst its not listed on their website they will do these in 200g or 250g tubs. I am sure there are others who love McChrystals fruit snuff as much as i do and thought this info might be of use to those of you that are unaware of this.
I dealt with Mr Ian McCrystal only last week. His firm are very good. I sent a cheque and I got the snuff last Tuesday. And only today I see the cheque has been transacted. It is very nice knowing some people out there do have trust in others.
Some time ago, I contacted Ian regarding 500g of their clove snuff. He was quite helpful, taking a check for USD instead of GBP, due to the high cost I would incur to transfer the currency. He even sent a few of the small tins, “to remind you just how good it is!!” My check apparently got lost in the post, but after a couple months finally made it there. I recently got word from him that my snuff was on it’s way here. Hopefully the snuff doesn’t take as long to get to me, as the check did to get to him. In the future, I will probably need to do the same with their SP Snuff. It’s very good, and my tin is disappearing at an alarming rate.

Yep £25 for 200g and £27 for 250g and you have the right of it those tiny tins are useless, great to hear the Wilsons is such good value but the Raspberry i got from wilsons today is perfumed menthol unlike the McChrystals and i have decided i like the Toque Raspbery the best of all by a country mile. The Apricot on the other hand is another matter as McChrystals is my absolute favourite without a doubt and i can see myself getting 250g of this in the near future.

The Samuel Gawith is a fruit first with a slight menthol lift which i like a lot the Wilsons has a lot of menthol which overpowers the fruit this both suprised and delighted me as i do like this but the perfumey floral aspect i am less keen on. The McChrystals Raspberry i opened last night was very moist and i may like this more when its dried out a little. The Toque Raspberry is just such a clean clearly defined natural raspberry that once i start a tin of this it does not last long. If Toque made an Apricot snuff i am sure it would find equal favour with me but until then McChrystals Apricot followed by the Samuel Gawith would have to be my order of preference.
I got my 500g from McChrystals for £15 or $22, if I had gotten that much snuff in 3.5g tins I would have spent almost $250.
Good grief! What are you going to do with that much snuff? You could pull a Tony Montana and just stick your whole face in it.
What do these jars look like? Any one got a picture?
@ cstokes4 - I might have to pull a Napoleon, and take a handful of snuff and throw it into the air and walk through it for my snuff fix j/k. It’s just some great snuff, and the 3.5g tins are ridiculously expensive, so I figured I’d buy in bulk and have all the clove snuff I’ll ever need. @ Mopey - I haven’t received it yet, so I’m not sure what it’s gonna look like. I did come across a nice jar at a local thrift store, in case the tobacco comes in a bag instead of a jar. As soon as I get it I’ll be sure to post a pic.
More power to you, leman.
I have visions of a lovely old fashioned jar! If thats the case I would be happy to put down the money.
Just arrived this morning. I think I died and went to snuff heaven.
@ leman - Thank you that is a beautiful sight just sitting there makes you want to reach and grab them like a pair of… oops getting carried away

Wow, you must have a nose of steel! I take a pinch of McChrystals clove if I want to feel like a beginner again. My eyes water and my nose stings and it pretty much feels like my head is going to explode. I think I’ll have a go now… Ouch, it must be the only snuff that still makes me pull a funny face. In fact, several funny faces over the course of a couple of minutes.
Looks like you are a happy man Leman, now dont spill them!
