I am now doing snuff with great regularity and in large quantities. Using my modded cross pen so it passes all the nasal hair, but when I wash my nose there is no snuff coming out and I have little or no back drip from my sinuses. So where does the snuff go? Is most of it absorbed through mucus membranes? My handkerchief does not even get very dirty (I won’t discuss my sleeves,but they are no dirtier than before the snuff).
If you try and stronger snuffs you will get what is called Throat Drip. The pain in the pack of the throat similar to if you swallow dip/chew spit. Some of it goes down the throat, but some of it also is just absorbed. Anyone else able to chime in?
It can’t be absorbed. Only the chemicals within (nicotine and other alkaloids) are going to pass through your mucus membrane. What goes in must come out otherwise. If you’re not seeing it come out the front, you must be swallowing it, even if you don’t feel it. A lot will stay lodged in there, which is why I usually give my nose a cleaning once a day. I’m usually amazed at how much comes out.
All that nose hair is trapping the snuff up there? Try trimming those pesky nose hairs?
It make it way down to your stomach, if your loaded up you can taste it.if your only pinching smaller then the size of a pea ,you may not notice it going down. Mine certainly collects and I blow out about 30% or a gram and a half daily. I use 4-5 grams daily. I cut back . reason - the cold winter air.
I snuffed for months before I fully realized how right @Xander is: It hides, and it blends in or disperses amongst all the places. Some will go further back and up and down.
try coarser snuffs you will exactly know where it goes 
I remember you talking about this pen and I am assuming it works like the bendy straw. When I used the straw to insufflate the snuff, it was a much smaller amount than a pinch. It would coat my nose and although I didn’t get a throat hit, I could taste the remnants of the flavors in the snuff lightly in my mouth. Like if I used a mint snuff, my mouth would feel fresh. The snuff did drain back to my throat but in such small amounts that it was hardly noticed, so when I blew my nose I didn’t see much on the tissue. Also with pinching some snuffs, I have noticed from time to time a tiny ball of snuff fall out of my nose, to small to see where it landed
You don’t say how much snuff you are using - I’m guessing not much if you are new to it, so as Xander says it’s probably just being swallowed. What goes up must come down and it can only go down via the nose or the throat. If you ever develop a 10g a day or more habit it you will know where it’s going.
I am using a lot of snuff. but, thanks to the knowledgeable advice I have become more aware of the snuff draining into my throat. Get my pen way back and a pinch that I would normally take in both nostrils is a lot less than what I do with my pen. In fact the pen is throwing some snuff back into my throat. My curiosity is satisfied. My major inhalation was with a snuff with far more easily absorbed alkaloids.
Tobacco can not be absorbed through the mucus membrane. That means that if it isn’t coming out of the front of your nose, then it’s going down the back of your nose and into your stomach.
Try taking bigger pinches, and like @linguist said, try a coarser snuff
I wonder weather snuff going into the stomach is all that good. Surely it could lead it cancers and other such problems? This has been playing on my mind for a while now. Does anyone else know anything on the subject?
So, one more ultra-stupid question is… its better to keep nasal hairs or to cut it??
Welcome Nikolaos - it’s all down to personal preference - no rules with snuff. Personally I keep them well trimmed, but that’s a grooming thing, I don’t think it has any effect of using snuff.
into the stomach isn’t a problem. You have worse things going in there all the time. Things like car exhaust. The small amounts of snuff that has lost most of it’s nicotine falling into stomach acid wouldn’t cause problems.
