Does anyone have any experience with the Makla Snus that is available on Mr. Snuff? I have never heard of this brand.
I guess its not really a snus, its a different style of oral tobacco altogether - called Makla. From what I’ve read/heard, its pretty potent stuff. I’m curious like you, though - and I haven’t tried it personally but I’d like to. I read a lot about it on a chewing tobacco forum , if I find the link i’ll post it. I know people we’re saying it was kind of rough on the gums and some made their own portions using tea bags. Its moist, so people use a prismaster.
It’s worth the price of admission. The flavors aren’t as bold as one would get with other oral tobaccos, but the nicotine hit is huge. I can’t say it was rough on my gums, but then I only used one or two pinches a day.
search makla on this forum and you find lots of info about it.
i tried it once and it wasnt my cup of tea at all, but as always: diffrent people = diffrent taste. it is cheap, try it. i second the huge nic hit.
I tried it once and it was alright, really nice nic hit but I ran into problems when trying to take the prilla out. It just fell apart and got smeared all over my gums and made a big mess. I had to rinse my mouth out a bunch of times to get rid of it all, not a pleasant experience and it sort of scared me away from loose snus as I fear the same thing will happen.
Loose snus can and often does(for me) break apart and make a mess. But I still like it, and use it, though only at home. Makla I have had, and it does have a big strong nic hit, and to me, it did not taste good(like real snus) but it was not terrible, and I think it’s mainly for the nic more than the taste.
I’ve had Makla Green, it was pretty fresh tasting with mint/menthol and had a sizable amount of nicotine. I’ve also had “Chema” made by Poschl, That stuff wasn’t quite as good, but it seemed to be a similar product.
@bigmick: lol the “price of admission” I had the Chema Makla too. It was fun for a one off, or two since I tried two flavors.
I have some Ifrikia (sp?), it is strong, but I agree with tom502, not much flavor. But what a kick. I have to limit my use of it, it raises my nic-tolerance to a new level. I’m currently re-quiting the rollies, 5 days down, yay over the hump. At the same time, trying to limit my alcohol intake. It is going well, thank goodness for snuff. Sometimes at work, after lunch, the urge to inhale smoke gets strong; that is when the Makla comes in real handy. I can feel a burn on the gum. Yes, it works.
I’ve heard of people using makla sublingualy. Has anyone tried that? I tried it with snus. Actualy not a bad way too go if you don’t need to talk for a few minutes and don’t mind a burn that feels wrong somehow (like this can’t be a good idea kind of wrong). Though the biggest advantage was the nicotine uptake was a lot faster then under the lip.
Wait you put snus in your nose? I heard ettan was originally considered dual use.
under the tongue actualy.
Right, sublingual means under the tongue
It is something new for me. Snuff under the tongue.Amazing! How many ways are there to use snuff/snus !
You don’t wanna know.
Tell me
I was joking. I don’t think anyone really uses snuff under the tongue, regularly, I am sure some have tried it, so did I. Nasal and oral is the only ways I know.
I occasionally dip my sweet scotches. A little spoonful under the tounge adds to the kick.
You can dust your eyeballs! Snuff is fun for any orifice for that matter.
