All, Sadly, I have to inform you all that the Snuffhouse you know will soon be no more. Unfortunatly Vanilla has informed us that inorder to maintain the forum with their software, service, and hosting, it will cost $1,200 per month. I am sure that all of you can understand that this is not a sustainable option. Right now I am giving whatever minimal assistance I can to David to help transfer the forum over to its new domain: www.snuffhouse.com. Once that site becomes live I will post it here, this is a temporary domain just to get things off the ground, also please bookmark that domain in case this site goes dark before I have a chance to let you all know. David will be emploring his staff to assist in the transfer as well. If there are any members that are website saavy and would like to help, please let me know. Also, if any members would like to backup the forum, or save any information on here, please do! Right now we are trying to get things saved so that if the forum does go dark (and it very well may within a few days) we have all the info from the site. Tonight I will be making a hard copy of the entire forum, what I will do with that I have no idea but at least we will have the data. This is sad news. I love this forum. Thanks Chris and all the moderators that do so much for us. Hope the transfer goes smoothly. I wish I could help but I am not that saavy.

Quick update: we have managed to install a new forum and it is looking good so far. We are attempting to skin it so it at least resembles the current snuffhouse. Next will be trying to load databases of users pw, threads and so on but no promises there. Maybe we can go live and anybody who reads this can at least bookmark the page and wait to see what we are able to transfer. Worst case we will have to start over with registrations and so onā¦but the good news is: SNUFFHOUSE LIVES ON!!
I truly pleased that the font of wisdom and global snuff taking camaraderie that is SnuffHouse will indeed live on in some form

Vanilla sure does charge a lot. Thanks to the good folk behind the scene who are working on the transition.
The hell with vanilla itās crap! What should be relatively simple things are seemingly impossible on vanilla and they donāt even have a half decent search engine which is like the most basic thing a forum needs and they want us to pay $1200 a month! Theyāre smoking crack, they should be paying us $1200 to put up with their crap. Letās build us a better forum

I sure hope the entire site, posts, user/pws and all can be ported over. If not, now would be a good time to copy out text from posts sharing the best snuff advice, recipes, history and other resources.
I just checked their prices by clicking on the āVanillaā logo at the bottom of the page. That is outrageous. They must not want to fool with non corporate accounts like us and thus are pricing themselves accordingly. But for what you seem to get for the money, I would think corporate would go elsewhere. Anyway @MrSnuff @cstokes4 -Thank you both so much for all the hard work to keep this site available. I can only imagine what a nightmare it must be to get this all transferred and set back up. We really appreciate it.

is there anything any of us can do to help, other than IT work? Iāve only been here a few months, but I was crawling around here for a year before that. Sure would be a blow to lose the wisdom and experience which has accumulated here. Iāll buy a couple thumbdrives and start saving pages for offline reading, but thatās alot of forum, and even if we did that it would all have to be re entered manually, as all of the tags and links would be irrelevant. Not the best start to the day, this news.

It would be much cheaper to maintain from India or elsewhere in South Asia. Iām in Nepal until early July. Bank transfer payments are global. May I find another possible contractor?

@Hitsuzen I had to load FireFox to get to both the new site and MrSnuff store. I donāt really like FF because when I scroll it is not smooth but rather jumpy and screws with my focus.
