I got a bit of interesting news at the post office the other day, and wanted to put it out to the forum to see if anyone ever heard such a thing. After requesting tracking on a package being mailed to a member of the forum overseas, I was told that the US Postal Service doesn’t offer tracking on international packages. Likely because she saw the incredulous look on my face, the mail lady then stated that the customs code MIGHT be usable for the same purpose, but probably not. So in the end, I paid about $30 to mail a package that the postal service of the United States of America cannot track overseas. I find this very odd, seeing as I’ve received packages from overseas that had tracking throughout. Is the issue just that the USPS has fallen behind when it comes to global tracking, or was I dealing with an employee who didn’t want to be bothered?
Tracking ends at the beach. My wife ships things everywhere and has complained many times about this. It stinks.
I had an even weirder experience because the package I sent had a working trace code untill today??? Yesterday it says delivery will be the 18th or 19th and today it says no package found ???
UK packages with tracking to me ends at the point of entry here in the States… will show when arrived and passed through the sort facility and thats it until it gets to me… (Royal Mail to entry point track, then USPS gets it)
The bottom line then is that once your national carrier hands off your package, you just have to cross your fingers and hope for the best. Unbelievable in this day and age. @Marielle32 Your package has been handed off by your carrier, that’s why it no longer shows… They don’t have it anymore.
@Tobe and I still have my fingers crossed for your package to arrive.
@Marielle32 I’ll call tomorrow and see if it came. No worries.
