Magic Moments Black

I’m relatively new to snuff. I absolutely love Bernard’s schmalzlers that I’ve tried so far. In the order of my favorite three that I’ve tried from my favorite on down: Klostermischung 10g, Postillion 10g, Zwiefacher 10g. However, I love all three. Has anybody tried Bernard’s Magic Moments Black and how would you describe it? What are your favorite schmalzlers from Bernard’s and what others would you recommend from them, or any other company for that matter?

Still need to try Magic Moments. These just came out. Also I’ve not had Postillion and Regsenberg prise only came out last year, so I’m pretty far behind. However you can’t go wrong with any of the traditional schmalzlers. Brasil Doppelt-fermentiert is their flagship product, and is fantastic. Also Aecht Altbayerischer is top notch as well. From other companies my favorites are Sternecker Echt Fresco and from Pöschl Dopplearoma “D”. Although my favorites change from time to time.

Regensburger Pris is kind of like Doppelt Fermentiert lite. It’s good. I like DF and Aecht Altbayerischer better.

I just got a 10g box of Magic moments and, to me it smells like chocolate and ripe grapes still on the vine.

Magic moments is on my list for my next snuff order. Postillion is my current favorite from Bernard’s

Man @joesnuffer glad my cart is still open, that sound delish I haven’t met a schmalzler I did not like!! Now is the white a sugar thang?

Damn, this one was in my cart, and got removed at the last minute. Oh well, I foresee a massive order coming up in a week or two… USPS will need to bring a forklift to get my pallet off the truck.

@basement_shaman Usually the whites are glucose powder… so yeah sugar… kinda defeats the purpose though in my mind. :))

Order arrived along with Brasil Fresco. Magic Moments is my least favorite that I’ve tried from Bernard’s. To me, it reminds me of a strawberry cocconut daquiri. I’ve never liked coconut scented products, so I’m not to keen on the scent at all. The tobacco is medium slightly moised grind. It is excotically scented. I could see some people really liking this product.

Klostermischung is my favorite so far, followed by Postillion and tied with Zweifacher. Damn, my nose is so clogged. I’ve been taking such small amounts of snuff, and very gently. Tried a Netipot and not going to use nasal inhalers. Sucks I cant enjoy this wonderful experience without getting completely clogged up.

it gets less clogged with time. Also some snuffs clog less then others especialy for certain people. Menthol really clogs up some people.

@ravenhorse the schmalzlers are pretty cloggy sorts of things. I can’t use them exclusively all day myself. I intersperse with dryer English types. Also the Zwiefacher has menthol, as bob mentioned can cause some clogging. He’s also right that over time the clogging is less. I’m glad we’re getting some reports back on this one, though, as I’ve been eager to hear about it since they announced it. @basement_shaman yeah the white is a white (sugar) snuff. Bernard’s realeased a few of these pairs now, a tobacco and non tobacco in a series. I think Wies & Pris and Wies & Pulver was the last one.

i got it in my last order too (as someone may has seen in the mailbox thread) but did not sample it yet since i got totally hooked with this doppelaroma + mix-tabak thing. it makes one of the best schmalzler ever (in case someone likes menthol)

My nosils have cleared off. I laid of the nasal inhaler and taking smaller pinches.

I really like it. It is sweet. It is tasty. I get fruits. Guess strawberries. Feeling in the nose is smooth. Not much sharpness. Taste could linger longer (i just go on and take more pinches!! har har!!). I guess this could close some people´s nose but it is worth to try imho.

I also want to restate for ravenhorse and others that the clogging goes down with time. When I first started snuffing I would get clogged to the point of wondering if the snuff had cemented itself into my nostrils no air going in or out. Never happens anymore even though some snuffs bother me more then others. The point is eventualy your nose learns that snuff is it’s friend.

cannot add any words. truth. point.

I got some Magic Moments Black through the post a couple of days ago. It’s got just about everything in it, I think - possibly including the kitchen sink - so it’s too much for constant use, but it’s definitely worth experiencing.

I am a fan of Magic Moments Black although for me it is too concentrated and sweet. I have been wondering what to mix it with that would tone it down and yet mix well with it–something not so heavily flavored. Given its somewhat coarse grind, I thought maybe Taxi Red. I haven’t tried anything yet but would appreciate any of your suggestions. Any ideas?

I’d be inclined to mix it with another schmalzler - either a plain one by Bernards like their Brasil Feinst or possibly Poschl’s Schmalzler A Brasil.
