I just noticed that both Maccoboy and Devoe Sweet are currently available from Mr. Snuff even though I think they are no longer being produced. I strongly recommend Maccoboy to anyone who hasn’t tried it–it has a nice mild rose scent and unlike most American scotches/sweets it’s quite easy to snuff (being moister and coarser than most scotches/sweets).
Maccoboy seems plentiful enough. I think the rumors of its demise have been exagerated. DeVoe on the other hand, might be from a warehouse find. Can’t speak for Dave though.
Both deVoe and Maccoboy were procured from a distributor who will no longer be distributing and found these in the warehouse. I can’t imagine they are super old since they were selling Maccoboy up until a few months ago. These items were not on their inventory, even though they were on the shelves. I was told that neither were being produced any more but it is always difficult to know for sure.
Maccoboy is kind of like a schmalzer or Princes, grind and moisture wise plus the earthy sweet floral nature of it. It’d be a shame to discontinue such a unique American snuff.
I have one can of Maccoboy left. In case it is true, that they did stop to produce this i will have to re-stock soon.
Damn.
PS: oral use is a nice experience too… guess there is only one oral snuff with ROSE in it
