loss of ability of smelling

Today i woke up and i noticed that i can not dedect the smell of anything including fruits, spicies and turkish coffee. I washed my nose and the result was around 10% came back for a short time. I regularly checked my nose nothing happened. I drank hot milk. Now it is 20%. I wonder what did it? Am i going to be cold or synthetic oils which i tested did it? I am a bit afraid.

I don’t like the word synthetic, I think life has taught us that our bodies don’t accept them well. That might not be the problem but I wanted to toss it out there. Hope you get better quickly

I hope that you recover very rapidly - it does sound as though it was coming back. But I would agree with @MattheFox about synthetic oils. I am sure that some of the snuff producers may use them but they do have years of experience. As an amateur I would be dubious about using such products. Even with natural essential oils one has to take care and do some research. Anyway I hope to hear that your sense of smell has fully recovered later today and that it was just a temporary thing.

after hours the symptoms of cold appears. I have running nose coughing red throat etc. I immediatly take medicine. Without smelling snuffs are not tasty. Depressed.

Love how snuff causes people to notice their nose and the things it does.

It sounded more like “I wonder what I put in my nose to make me feel so bad” Having a cold was last on the list. I hope there isn’t a snuff flu epidemic starting

Sorry to hear that you have a cold but at least it explains the loss of your sense of smell. A cold is nasty but not permanent. I strongly recommend Toque Christmas Pudding - it has helped me out recently when I noticed colds as they were just starting and then they disappeared within a day. I presume it is the cloves so any clove snuff might do the trick. There again I may just have been lucky but I prefer to think it was the snuff.

i try to sniff gletcherprise all day. My nose is blocked now even gletcherprise is hard to sniff. What is “snuff flu epidemic” ?

@linguist Me being stupid. @TobaccyLassy just came off one and I was telling her that I thought snuff helped prevent them. Lemon helps shrink the membranes in the nose if you have snuff with it. Cleaning with cotton swabs always helps unblock my nose

gletcherprise closes my nose up fast. As in quickily and totaly. I don’t know what it is because the other poschels and menthols don’t. I think it’s the columbia oil as the forested latakia by Jaap bess mess with me in the same way.

It’s called nasal fatigue and does happen from time to time. I either take a break from snuffing for a few hours or switch to menthols like O&G. It usually happens towards the end of the day though after snuffing lots of different snuffs. Edit just read you’ve got a cold. Get well soon.

Yes, just get better

nasal fatigue is protective. It’s so that for instance if you’ve done lots of snuff it won’t cover up the smell of the rotting meat you’re about to eat. Or the smell of poison gas. Complete total lose of smell is actualy more likeily to lead to death or serious illness then blindness or deafness.

it is strange that i can recognise the nutty smell of plain snuff stronger and longer than the scented snuffs. But medicated are more useful to open the nostrils.

You haven’t cursed at any witches lately ?

lol They usually like to do the cursing

You haven’t cursed at any witches lately ?

Lol. If i can find any witches…
