Lorillard Maccoboy circa 1910

F

Won this unopened pound jar of Maccoboy and was wondering what your thoughts are regarding condition and flavor in extremely aged snuff. As I have no experience with century old snuff, I would especially like to hear from those that have. Here is the link to the auction and photos: http://bit.ly/17iHPWE

My thoughts on your purchase is that I’m green with envy.

Excellent find ! How did I miss that one ? :)) :)>-

I really have no idea what to expect with snuff this old. I suppose if the seal is still intact it should be good. Will post back to this thread when it comes.

there is another for sale 1.5 oz. buy it now on ebay about $18 delivered… :(|)

that is awesome, i would try it if everything inside looks ok with no mold or anything obviously wrong.

I used to specialize in antique cigars and pipe tobacco still in their original boxes and tins. Almost all the time they were unusable. Ever open a 100 year old box of cigars that are just riddled with tobacco beetle holes? I’m sure that if the seal is right the snuff should be good, hopefully. Lol

Good find. Do let us know how this tastes

Received the jar on Wednesday and cracked it this morning. It is full and appears to be in good condition with a faint tobacco scent. Can’t detect any rosé though. It is very dry so I will need to rehydrate before sampling.
