Should I go with plastic or metal? I have been wanting to get one or 2, but can’t decide. Opinions? thanks edm

Get both. Buy the plastic ones from Toque — they come filled with snuff. I also use the metal ones they sell for most of my snuffing these days.

Bullets from Toque are refillable, convienent,and free with your choice of snuff pre-filled. The metal ones with the twist dispensing knob work good, but the Posh ones are hard to get anything out or re-fill and the screw in the bottom wears out, finely threaded the one on the right is the posh. IMHO

Good advice, Gimpy. The only downside (for some) is that bullets don’t give a large enough dose. I usually do two blasts for each nostril as one dose, but you can also tap them out on the back of your hand or just unscrew the bottom and go to town. I was a pinch-only guy for a long time, but I’ve really come to like them since I quit smoking. Kinda scratches the itch for something to fiddle with and gives something to hunt around for instead of my smokes pack when I already 10 minutes late.

Does anyone like to use a little snuff spoon? I personally enjoy both a pinch at times, as well as a sniff from the spoon too

Toque sells the best metal bullets imo. And at the cheapest price too.

I pinch the toasts and other fine grinds, but use a spoon for most everything else. Like others, I found the dose from a bullet to be too small. Somewhere when I was first getting into snuff I saw a metal bullet that had two sizes of dose - one regular (presumably) and one larger. Wish I could find those again.

I have one bullet which has two different dose settings and to be frank, I can’t tell the difference.

A word of warning for anyone with a Posh type bullet with the screw. Before refilling replace the screw in it’s screw hole, or you will get snuff down and then the thing wont tighten. You’ll end up having to tap all that snuff out.

I have one of the metal bullets of the type sold on the Toque website. Works fine. My only complaint is that the paint is starting to flake off. If the small dose is a concern, try loading the bullet with a high-nicotine scotch or toast, or blend some scotch/toast into your favorite lower-nic flavor and put the blend in the bullet. Works for me. Mine is currently loaded with a blend of Toque Lime Toast and Toque Menthol.

i found that a spoon on the back of hand is a good idea … but takin a pinch …is the way to go…my opinion is … a bullet hits my nose when im wide open -whiz- like a bus runnin through my head… but to each their own. i still prefer pinches from my “tin”… just my opinion. enjoy it as you wanna enjoy it.

I will agree that a pinch does work great, especially since its easy to control, and apparently it gets the aromas going as well, so that’s a plus. But a little snuff spoon works great when you want a quick sniff . But, as you said, To each his own!

yes sir… i spoon a bit on to my hand…(top of) also sniff from spoon and i get a different expierence from my snuff…much different from …say… a pinch… i believe we all have our own styles… and we get a differend expierence from each. for instance tonight im using a tooter… which to many is a sin… its a once and awhile thing for me(like a holiday))… im usually a pincher but …hey i wanna do a snort of a american scotch… well maybe its not a scotch but a sweet (sweet as a peach)…but yeah to each their own…just enjoy

I have grown to appreciate and use all the snuffing methods, they all contribute to a unique experience. This snuff stuff is deep, man!

PFFT… Who said using a tooter was a sin…? I’ve used one… And although I took too much, (as seen in my video…), it’s still an interesting way to enjoy! But I agree, each method produces a different result. What a lovely thing, that we can enjoy it in so many ways… And I wasn’t trying to dictate or anything like that .

I will dictate this; Whatever the method used, one MUST extend his little finger whilst snuffing. No exceptions. @bob, The Society of Snuffers is on to you so you better get with it.

So ordered a couple from MrSnuff, I had been useing a pipe nail as a spoon. Pinching always is a mess for me. I’m an Auto Tech and my hands aren’t always the cleanest. So useing the nail helps. Always have my pinky out, and my hanky handy. Most of the time I get a satisfying sneeze, too. edm

As said many times, the problem with bullets is that they tend to give a small dose - which if you have any kind of serious habit needs multiple hits to equal a good pinch. Also, you get ‘missed’ doses where nothing comes out if you are using anything medium to coarse in grind. They are pretty good for toasts, Scotch and especially Dholakia White though, as you tend to need a smaller amount. Ive used every type and eventually found the cheap plastic ones that look like Dholakia bullets give the best dose, you can also pair the dosing chamber a touch with a sharp knife. All things equal you can’t beat the good old pinch from a snuffbox IMO.

I got some bullets, thinkin it would all be easier. But the pinch is just easier to control and quicker.
