After getting some great suggestions for my first order from you guys, I figured I’d ask again on what to try on my second order. I already have a few picked out but would like some suggestions based on types I haven’t tried or types that are somewhat similar to what I liked the most. Here’s my current preferences from my last order: Favorites: Gawith Cola - Definitely looking for another cola type if not the same one Abraxas Cafe 11 - Taking this conservatively because they don’t seem to sell the 15g of it anymore, again definitely looking for another coffee type and another abraxas of some sort Loved: Poeschl’s Gletscherprise Extra - Whatever flavor of menthol this is I love it 6 Photo Special and Anarkali - Not sure which is which from the packages I have but I loved them both and am looking for some 6 photo suggestions Liked: Bernard Weiss-Blau - Liked this German one too but not as much as the Gletscherprise Samuel Gawith Kendal Brown Special/Viking Peach - Whatever tobacco these two are I hated them at first but am now warming up to them and have been using as a daily snuff, I also like the appreciable burn I get from them Branif Caribbean Disliked: McChrystal’s Original - Don’t really care for the English Medicated too much, I don’t “hate” these but really only use these to wake up haha (especially when mixed with WoS’ Cool Guarana) Kendal Almond - I really like the flavor but its too sweet for me to take more than once every so often Definitely looking for a few snuffs with a good burn and strong nicotine hit. Also looking for one “energy snuff” if anyone has a good recommendation.
Toque Coke is a great Cola. I’ve not tried the SG one yet so no comparisons from me. I’ve not tried Gletcherprise Extra. As far as I know its regular Glestcherprise but with added peppermint. Try the regular. Its scented with Columbia (fir) oil. Then compare to Bernard Polar Prise (much better than Glestcher IMO) and possibly Bernard Fichtennadel. Also I beleive STC’s rival for the Gletcherprise is Alpina or Alpen Prise (not sure which). So you may want to compare with that one as well. Plenty more Kendal Brown types out there. SG has four: Scented, Plain, Special and Original. They also make a Menthol Brown. GH has two Plain and Scented. Toque has Berwick Brown. That’s a few to get your shopping cart started at least.
Must order: Viking Dark - strong hit, unscented but delicious, good burn and lots of nicotine De Kralingse Latakia AO 1860 - good burn another plain but delicious snuff that really emphasizes the Latakia tobacco Fribourg and Treyer Macouba - sweet like a cola but has great depth and a good N hit Might like: Toque Quit - very strong burn and nicotine hit WoS Burgundy - highly perfumed, some say soapy, but sweet and strong, and sticks with ya. Good for use to cover other odors. Samuel Gawith Cola is probably the best cola snuff out there. Its hard to find a good comparison to that one… Toque Coke is more subdued in the flavor department and at least to me a little finer. I actually like to mix the two together.
For burn and nicotine hit try white elephant. Menthol you might like 6 photos #66 I really like 6 photos kailash and for a strong floral Dholokia kamal is my favorite. fubar makes a good coffee. medium grind and moisture. samuel gawith elmo reserve is worth a shot. I do it regularly and am always surprised by it. It is never what I expect or remember. Of the F&T snuffs Dr.J is my favorite. Many snuffs I almost like I do like when I add Hedges (a fine somewhat dry menthol) with respect to Horus: menthol preserves and activates some of the psychoactive chemicals in tobacco: a relaxant effect not hallucinations.
See how much $$ you have to spend then order away. I’m sure there’s something you’ve been wanting to try.
i put stuff in order, then whittle it down. if you like cafe11’s base, try abraxas premium fin. i believe its the same. firedrac is a favourite of mine too. personally, snuffs i am into right now- firedrac, cafe11, toque quit, toque coke, WoS SM500 (im taking a break from my usual heavy menthols, i like this, it seems so refreshing) WoS gold label, WoS grand cairo (both previous are SP), Poeschl’s Gletscherprise regular, viking dark.
I would say pick a brand and order as many different expressions that they have (that you can afford of course) that you have no previous experience with. Not getting fully acquainted with a specific brand is a mistake that I have made in the past. I know that this advice is a little unorthodox, but if you find an obscure gem that tends to go under recognized you will find that to be very rewarding. Specially if it comes from an established brand (SG, WOS, etc.).
You have to get 6 Photo Kailash. My favourite ever snuff!
There are too many good snuffs, where to begin and where to end??? For sure start to explore all the line of Abraxas & Sir Walter Scott’s
Viking Dark would be my number 1 pick to try as it is my personal favorite(as well as a few other folks around here I think.) If you like the 6Photo and are into menthol their medicated is tops, if you want super menthol that is super smooth go for the 666.
What I would do is get IndianSnuff’s current four offerings. Damn good snuff and the NB Madras will fulfill any nicotine cravings you might have. (And pretty inexpensive, as well).
I second Viking Dark. I’ve learned I don’t fancy extremely fine grinds or toasts, but I do love lots do nicotine. It fits the bill.
Every time you put in an order, just look at the Abraxas range and pick one, if not at random, then at whim. You can hardly go wrong. Even if you don’t love it, you’ll learn something new about snuff. The thing I really like about the range is the huge variation, not in terms of the number but in terms of the differences between the style of each snuff.
I agree on Viking Dark and Molens 1860. Two great plain tobacco snuffs. You should probably also try a toast. Many would recommend F&T High Dry Toast but I think Wilsons IHT no. 22 is slightly more beginner friendly. I see you have tried a Bernard snuff and quite liked it, but you should probably try the ‘flagship’ Bernard Schmalzler, which is Bernard Brazil Doppelt Ferment. Their Gekaltcher Virginie, whilst not a schmalzler, is also a damn fine plain tobacco snuff. For SP style snuffs (not my favourites but most like them) try Wilsons Tom Buck or Best SP, or Toque’s SP Extra. From the SG line, Elmo’s Reserve is a definite winner. For your next 6 Photo I would recommend Super Kailash, but you will probably enjoy whatever you pick - they don’t make a bad snuff! You may also enjoy some of the Dholakia snuffs, and @indiansnuff is also offering some additional scented indian snuffs that you probably won’t find elsewhere Edit: Hang on a minute - this thread is ten months old. Hopefully the OP has made his order by now!
Just slightly old…lmao =))
Brasil Doppelt Fermentiert, SG Elmo’s Reserve, SG Red Crest, Amostrinha are absolutely must-have to anyone!
