hello all, I am looking for some recommendations for my next order. I figured it would be easiest to post likes/dislikes, so here it is… Likes
Samuel Gawith Strawberry
SG raspberry
SG chocolate
SG cherry
WoS bubblegum
Temptation grape concord
Dislikes
SG honey
SG Irish d light
Swisher navy sweet
Paul Gottard grape
WoS Apple & blackcurrant
Not favorites, but I thought were decent…
WoS strawberry, raspberry. Toque blueberry, rasberry.
I would say I prefer coarse, non-medicated (or so weak it’s barely noticeable), and fruity. Any good non-medicated grapes? Oranges? I’ve tried Kendall orange and it was WAY too fine/dry for me!
Toque Champagne, Toque St Clement’s,These are fine but you can hydrate any snuff and it will swell up and become easy to use.
SG Firedance, SG Celtic Talisman are two you may like.
basement_shaman, not to get side-tracked but could you elaborate on the hydration process?
So easy you need a container with a lid. A bowl and clear plastic rap will work,a bottle cap from a bottle of water or plastic soda bottle. Place cap in center fill with distilled water, surround the cap with snuff that needs hydrating cover and let sit overnight. you can stir it around every six hour if you like. Hydrate with fruit rinds put snuff in sealed container put color only from fruit ,orange ,lemon , lime, grapefruit etc in container but don’t let it touch the snuff. cover and the next day remove the zest and your snuff is hydrated and scented. You can use fresh picked flowers and the snuff will pick up the scent and moisture. you can make or buy hydrosols and use in place of water. You can add oily coffee beans into your snuff. the trick is not to get snuff wet and used distilled water. you can use flavored alcohol but you may want to air out your snuff before putting in your nose. You can use food flavorings.Candy flavoring. essential oils but only indirectly like a drop on a q tip and away from snuff but in the container. Isn’t this a great hobby?
Sounds similar to breaking in a new cigar humidor…using distiller water and letting the product absorb it. I wonder if there is a target humidity level for snuff? There are 2-way humidity packets sold for maintaining cigars, I wonder if snuff could be put in an air-tight container with these packets to maintain moisture…?
I was glad to have tried 6 Photo Kailash - BUT it has a decent amount of menthol and doesn’t line up with your preferences. I’m not big into menthol, but this is easy to take, and my favorite once-in-a-while snuff; it smells like incense and good memories to me. My other favorites are just about every toast i’ve tried - fine, dry and also maybe not up your alley.
SO, maybe the only helpful thing I have to contribute is to 2nd Basement_Shaman’s SG Firedance suggestion - it’s fruity and easy to t… sounds like you know your SG. I’m always looking for good fruit snuffs but they tend to disappoint me. Firedance is a good one.
Thank you @basement_shaman for the info on how to hydrate! I’m a pretty new user and prefer the mild, light and most of all moist so far. With this I can try more. Great share
