Can any of you recommend snuffs with a good, long lasting, flavour? F&T Old Paris is wonderful but the flavour goes away far too quickly I haven’t tried many snuffs so I don’t have any flavour preferences, I just want the smell to stay for a while…

C

McChrystal’s Violet is nice. On the toasty side, Wilson’s Irish High Toast #22. Others that I like that seem to last: Sam Gawith Black Coffee, Toque Peanut Butter, Toast & Marmalade, Rooster, Levi Garrett, Wild Cherry.

L

F&T French Carotte has a long lasting scent.

P

DHOLAKIA Ganga and Kamal, they are my favourites as far as “staying power” is concerned. You can even blow your nose after pinching and the aroma will return after a while. But, on the other hand, if the aroma does not stay long, it’s a good reason to take another pinch!!!

J

I must agree with the F&T Bordeaux and I would also like to recommend Dholakia Swiss Chocolate. If you like menthol I would recommend Wilsons Honey Menthol.

S

F&T Bordeaux, Dr. J R Justice, French Carotte; Wilsons French Carotte (too long in my opinion), Rose of Sharrow, Jockey Club, Royal George; McChrystals Violet; Gawith Hoggarth Fleurette, Western Glory.

T

My 1st nasal snuff was Jaxons Cherry Menthol. I loved it and never stopped snuffing after that.

X

I’ll echo the long lasting effects of F&T’s Seville and Bordeaux. Also I’ll echo the Gawith Hoggarth Fleurette. I’ll add F&T Princes Special and QWS Sandalwood. Basically anything perfumy, I guess. Staying power is a two edged sword though. If you plan on using a different snuff, the strong smell of the previous one may interefere with it unpleasantly.

B

The Dholakia florals are very long lasting as are F&T Princes and Santo Domingo. Xander makes an excellent point about being carefull what you wish for, I have a very long wait after a pinch of Santo Domingo before I can smell anything else (it really do enjoy it though).

T

I’ve been snuffing Bruton Scotch, and it has a long lasting flavor.

S

Yes Xander, the Wilsons French Carotte I have found to be the worst for interfering with subsequent snuffs. It is a bit over the top that one.

S

I can see the problem, but I don’t plan on snuffing a great deal so I’d like to savour my snuffs for a long while.

T

I find that Rooster and Spanish Jewel hang in there for a while.

Spam, I’d suggest you get yourself a nice set of the F&Ts then. They are widely avalable, if they are a bit expensive all you have to do is tell yourself what you just said. The three I have tried all lingered for a long time, and were very easy on the nose. Seville took some getting used to, so get a handful of varietes and you will be happy.

C

Samuel Gawith Cob Dark. Looooooong lasting!

G

F&T Kendall Brown. More so than either of the other KB’s I’ve tried (Wilsons and Gawith Hoggarth).

D

I agree, F&T Seville. I took a pinch once before bed and when I woke up I could still smell it!

G

This whole discussion brings to mind a complaint of mine: Taken as a whole, the Toque snuffs have some of my favorite flavors. However, they only seem to last for a few seconds before fading away. Anyone else have this problem too?

A

A lot of snuff is like that, but thats more down to how our noses work than the snuff. You have to have a very strongly scented snuff for the flavour to last a long while. As suggested, Kamal is as good as it gets for longevity and one hell of a snuff in other respects.

S

I think most of the Toque snuffs are quite mild in scent but strong in nicotine , which I guess is why they appeal to so many as everyday snuffs. The floral and perfumed snuffs by their very nature will have more lingering aromas. I am sure if there were some floral/perfumed Toque snuffs they would have lingering scents.

T

I find perhaps most snuffs dont have a long lasting flavor, some lasting just and you sniff it, then it’s gone. Some I tend to sniff and sniff, for the initial nice flavor. Now I was very happy with the long lasting linger of the new Wow! Coffee Bite. I just did a sniff of Toque Espresso, and while it’s nice itself, it did not last long at all.

L

Hi guys! I think that the Schmalzler have a very long lasting flavour. In my nose it keeps very long and if I can’t smell it anymore I just squeeze my nose a little bit and it returns. I think F&T Seville and Bordeux are very longlasting aswell. If i take one pinch Seville it’s around my nose the whole day. Scott

I think Seville is taking first place in this contest. That must be the fifth time it was mentioned. Of course, its not a taste for everyone. I didn’t like it at first, but now I do.

S

Wallflower really hangs in there as well. Maybe too well.

S

Yes, the Wilsons Wallflower, lovely snuff. Lingers nicely, but not too long like the Wilsons French Carotte.

T

QWS Jasmine, but NOT in a good way. Well to me anyway, someone else may love this. It’s the 1st snuff I have bought that I do not like at all. I may wanna get rid of it, anyone interested, whisper me. Or some samples, I’ll be happy to mass send. Trades? If you have a snuff you don’t like, I’ll send you this for it.

T

OK, it’s a go! Thanks.
