Long Lasting Menthol?

Can anyone recommend a Strong Menthol that lasts for some time? So far I have only tried the Toque Menthol and Hedges(Which seems to out do the Toque…and definatly has more bite)I would love to come ascross one that lasts longer than ten minutes per use! Thanks! The Wiz!

I think McChrystals Original & Genuine lasts pretty long but I don’t really like menthols because they tend to clog me up. Also Wilson’s Special Medicated lasts long.

I like Poschl Red Bull. It seems to be a pretty potent and lasting menthol. It seems like alot of people aren’t menthol fans because it clogs them up or whatever. I I personally like tyem and never have much of a problem with clogging at all, but of course, everyone is different. I would recommend Poschl Red Bull, Bernard Zwiefacher, and Schmalzler Wiess Blau, Samuel Gawith Afterglow, and Poschl Ozona President. Those are all menthols I keep in regular rotation with my other varieties and most seem to last for a decent amount of time.

J&H Wilsons No 99 available from mr Snuff in a 25g tin

Try Wilson of Sharrow SM 500. If you can take the initial strength. It lasts a long time.

I’ve tried many many menthols and I now only bother with two on a daily basis: O&G and Hedges. At the moment they just can’t be beaten, although Gawith Hoggarth’s CM is also damn good. The O&G has a floral, citrusy edge with the camphor that lingers. The Hedges is more straightforward but with more menthol and a peppermint hint (excellent for keeping my sinuses nice and clear). If you want a longer lasting floral and spicey menthol, try Poschl Packards Club. I’ve given up with most German menthols now - the initial experience is fine, and then the grim, nasty drip kicks in as the paraffin creeps down the throat.

Thanks for the suggestions folks…I am adding a couple of these to my next order. The WoS SM 500 and The O&G for sure!! Much appreciated!! The Wiz!

I don’t know about it lasting a long time, but I find Sparrow Cool to be a good menthol, with an excellent kick.

I broke out the Paul Gotard’s menthol today, which I haven’t had in quite some time. Anyway, I had forgotten that it actually has a nice kick and it’s got pretty good staying power too.

sm blue is a favorite of mine.

My longest lasting menthol has been SM Blue from Wilsons of Sharrow. I don’t use it very often but it is still quite good. The tin is kept in an India stainless steel and has it’s original moisture. Ha Ha I know that’s not the ten minutes you were talking about but honestly which of us are really talking nonsense here?

I love Dr. Rumney’s Exclusive Menthol and Rumney’s Export.

I usually start the day with a strong menthol, then leave it alone after about an hours snuffing. The favourite is McC’s O&G, but I occasionally go back to Hedges L260. The latter in the early 1970’s I snuffed nothing else. They are both strong and lasting, Hedges being the stronger but O&G is the better, a more rounded flavour.

I just placed an order today for most of the Menthols mentioned here(and a few more). As you just mentioned Snuff Head…I myself am a Morning/Nightime Menthol user…Durring the day I rotate between toasts and scotches.I am extremly anxious to try the O&G as it seems to get the highest praise! The Wiz!

I’ve been thinking about this today and I have an answer: Samuel Gawith Golden Glow. Took a pinch first thing this morning and I could still smell it at lunch; strong menthol and wintergreen, amongst other things. Good stuff.

@sandy130674…NOW you tell me…LOL…Will make sure I add it to Februarys snuff order(Placed Jan’s yesterday!) Thanks! The Wiz!

I just wanted to comment to mention that this thread has been very useful to me also; I noticed lately that my friend seems to have nothing but menthol snuff, and I am the opposite- no menthols at all! So when I get in the mood for one, I usually borrow one of his, but I think it’s about time I pick up several for myself.

Variety is the zest of life.

I find the WoS Honey Menthol to be incredibly long lasting, then the menthol gives way to a lovely sweet and slightly floral honey. Fantastic!
