Is there a way to keep SWS Snuff Moist it tends to dry out quickly. Can glycerine or something be added to keep it moist. I never kept the SWS Snuff in the freezer but may now.

For the coarse ones of course I forgot to add

I don’t have any sws snuffs, but I do have a few different artisan snuffs. All my artisan snuffs go in the fridge with electrical tape securing the lid to the lower part of the tin or bottle. I only decant a small amount that I will be using for a few days max into a small smash box style container. I have not had any issues with drying out except when I forget to finish the bit on the smash box.

As stated above store in the fridge and decant only what you plan to use that day.

As far as keeping a snuff moist I always add a touch of Rum or really good Whiskey , it don’t take much for say 50 grams of snuff, so 1/2 pint of good booze will do a ton of snuff. I just add to say 50 grams of snuff maybe 3 cc’s to start with and run in coffee mill till mixed and keep going till moisture level is what I want, the moist snuff will stick to the sides of the coffee mill so you will need to scrap it down 2 or 3 times till blended well. This will work for any style snuff, your flavor may change just a tad but IMO its usually a good change .

Thought about adding boveda packs into mason jars with Bernard tap boxes. Your thoughts? The tap boxes aren’t sealed and dry out quick so by adding a Boveda Pack or two may keep them tap boxes moist piled up in a mason jar

If you put the Bernard boxes in small ziplok baggies they won’t cross contaminate  and they won’t dry out since they are not water based. best just to use them up, shelf life is 3 to 4 yrs max and then something changes. For ultimate long term storage of Schmalzler get a vacuum sealing food storage system and seal each one individually.
