I’m expecting my first large order from MrSnuff next week. 23 different snuffs & I’m ready to place another order for 15 more. I have enough glass jars to transfer them to but are there some brand containers they can be left in? For example, Toque 10g, Toque 25g, F&T 30g etc. If I transfer some from bulk to 5 or 10g smash boxes for daily use how many days will it stay fresh? I’m trying to limit the number of times I have to open the bulk (glass or mfgs) containers. Your wisdom would be appreciated.

freshness in a smash box or snuffbox depend on usage and in my experience temperatures. If left in a vehicle on a hot day you will get a stronger scent but it will dry out quickly. And the usage, if you open and close your container many times a day it will also dry out. Unless used fast enough. The containers I have left in original tins are f&t and toques. I’ve found those two to be better for holding. Although I usually transfer my toques over to glass jars if I don’t plan on using them up in a couple months. Wilson’s and pretty much everything else gets transferred immediately. Stay away from tap boxes as they are almost guaranteed to be dried out before you receive them.

Thanks for the advice. It’s pretty much what I expected. I’m just trying to determine if I can put 3-4 days worth in carry around airtight boxes so the bulk jars wouldn’t have to be opened daily.

@gryffandor I have my bulk in Mason jars that hold Wilson’s 260g bulk that I decant into smaller glass jars. From those smaller glass jars I fill my snuff boxes. My snuffboxes last me anywhere from 2 to 4 days depending on usage. Around the 4 (and if it lasts, 5) day mark I could notice that is has dried out slightly. You don’t want to continually open your glass jars so a big one for bulk and a smaller one to refill boxes works best. @noworry those are pretty cool tins but i am worried about the magnetics on those tins. I keep my phone and cards in my pockets. It would be a shame it i mistakely put one of those tins in the wrong pocket

Thanks much!! That is exactly the kind of advice I was hoping for. I think I can come up with a very similar plan with items I already have ordered.

I put the snuff everytime when I arrive at home and don’t need it, in the freezer and it keeps fresh the hole time

Absolutely no need to freeze snuff. Complete waste of time and freezer space.
