Keeping Abraxas snuff in the original containers for the long term?

@Abraxas: I’ve got a small stash of St.Casura, about 7 x 25 grams. Can I safely leave it in original unopened containers for the longer term? The containers are conical plastic ones, not the round tins as pictured on Mr Snuff at the moment. Lovely snuff by the way. I wish you’d make it available in larger containers. And I hope you keep it in production for long to come.

I should say that I bought a small container of Cerise for my very second snuff purchase, in May last year. I wasn’t really crazy about that one, so I screwed the lid on tight and put it in the snuff drawer in my fridge, which I thought would keep it pretty well. Just recently, I’ve been going back over snuffs I didn’t like earlier in the day to see if I’d changed my feeling about it. It was pretty dried out. I was quite surprised, look like a nice airtight container.

Wrap electrical tape around the lid where it meets the jar and it should keep for quite some time

@n9inchnails, are you talking about opened jars? or unopened ones, too?

All Abraxas snuffs should keep indefinitely if the container is unopened and has an intact seal. The glass jars are very good quality and the Cerise should not have dried out if the lid was on securely. Packaging can occasionally fail though, so my policy is just to replace - If you think the container was defective then please email me at abraxas@abraxassc.com so that I can remedy this. I’m delighted you like the St Casura - it was originally meant as a one off snuff but I will be keeping it in production now. It was never produced in tins - when I sent the artwork for the label across to Mr Snuff they just depicted a generic type tin for some reason. I am open to larger size units if folks want them. Cheers, Nigel.

@JakartaBoy‌ both, I always tape up my unopened Abraxas and SWS jars for long term storage just in case.

@Abraxas, no, I don’t think the package was faulty, but thanks for your offer. With the St.Casura, I’ll not bother with decanting into glass jars. It’s probably not going to last longer than a year, I guess.
