Just now saw this neat snuff article from years back...

…Great article featuring our admin! It was already referred to back in 2009 on this older thread… snuffhouse.org/discussion/2525 But, here’s the original article on wired.com, for our new members to check out (in case they haven’t seen it already): http://www.wired.com/underwire/2009/06/snuff/

I forgot about this one. good job.

Funny thing was…I was googling “persistent tickle in nose sneezing” and found the article!

I love the picture. You can just see the joy in his eyes

I don’t think it’s that great an article, actually - what’s all this about sniffing too hard causing a stomach upset? Anyone here had that? I certainly haven’t. It’s well-intentioned, but not that well informed, I think, going for a slightly sensationalised style which doesn’t help the cause. I liked this comment, posted coincidentally four years ago; barnaclebob • 4 years ago Great, 4 years from now we’re going to be surrounded by a bunch of red nosed, sniffling, snot-drinking tobacco snorters Well, that didn’t happen, did it…

LOL, the picture on the article was awesome. @HR_puffnsnuff: Yeah, I kind of went “upset stomach?” when I read that, but I took the article as more of a way that reminds the public that nasal snuff is still around.

Not sure why Alex said that about upset stomach. They probably asked him if he could think of any negatives after he filled their ears with an hour’s worth of positives. I guess that was the first thing he thought of when they asked him, so they printed it to be “balanced” and edited down the positives to just a few. I suppose you could if you swallowed enough of it. Well, we did get a surge in membership after that article was published, so I thought it was a good article

The only time i ever got sick swallowing tobacco was in junior high school and I accidentally swallowed Copenhagen. :open_mouth:

Interesting article. I do think that big tobacco helped in the decline in the use of snuff as they seen the large sales of cigarettes needed a lot of advertising but I also think this helped in preserving the original snuff brands (they didn’t change) Even today snus comes in front. I have never seen a snuff sign except in pictures (old)

@TabaccyLassy: I’ll pass your remark on to Aad van Strien volunteer on De Ster and de Lelie. Jaap Bes.

@snuffmiller Which comment?.. the one about me swallowing Copenhagen? or that i thought the article was cool?

@TobaccyLassy, I think Jaap Bes was referring to your reference of the picture of the gentleman snuffing in the article. The note under the picture references him as being at the mill.

I think that was @slide’s observation originally.

I third the awesomeness of Aad van Strien!

I dont like the article. It was nice to see snuff in such a wide-scale magazine but they are just nerds and so do they write. I dislike this kind. EDIT: The picture, on the other hand, is great XD

@TobaccyLassie: Stogie is right! Did you also visit the gallery mentioned in that article? Jaap Bes
