As a big fan of Toque Toffee this seemed like a natural. Way different!! It has a strong tobacco flavor with a nice burn followed by nice toffee flavor. Nice metal flip top tin…Interesting that when I take some into my hand, I need to break up the snuff since it comes out clumpy. Kinda fun though. This reminds me of rubbing out my pipe tobacco when you get the pressed or coin style. Just wish it would last longer in my nose. What is your experiences with this snuff?

C

I’ve only had the Cafe Creme. I thought it was tasty, but it didn’t seem to last long. Very easy going.

P

I bought one tin and it’s quite nice but, I prefer Toque Toffee. On the other hand, J T is totally different from T T, so I reckon there is space for both of them in my collection. I only use much more Toque though. I do love the Jaxon’s Cafe Cremé much more and, when mixed with some GH Tia Maria, it makes a superb snuff. I would like to try Jaxon’s Cherry Menthol too. According to Leman, it’s quite good.

T

The Jaxons Cherry Menthol was my 1st proper nasal snuff, and I still have a bit, and I still like it a whole lot. It does come out a bit clumpy for me too, but that’s OK.

S

I got a free sample of Jaxon English toffee with my order from the snuff store about 3 weeks ago. I only got about 5-8grams of this stuff and after a few initial snuffs decided to load it into an empty Ozona can I had. I have absolutely devoured this snuff. Now I am wishing I had known to order a full tin of this stuff. I’m normally a more regular user of menthols, but I found this stuff to be sweet and delicious. In fact, there is a little microbrewery I often visit after work where I really enjoy the porter and for some reason the jaxon english toffee goes really well with the porter. Anyway, to those of you reading this thread that haven’t tried this snuff, I highly recommend you pick up a tin with your next order.

T

I had a free sample of this with my last Snuff Store order. I must say I think I prefer it to Toque Toffee - not that I dislike the Toque, but the Jaxons tastes like what it says on the tin - good old English Toffee. I’m probably going to get a tin with my next order.

A

Is this, dare I say it, another Dholakia?

T

I don’t think so, snuffster - it appears to be a UK snuff, but I just got that info from the Snuff Store Jaxons page.

P

Nigel, I very much doubt it. The tin, grind etc are all different.

C

There was another thread on this debating if it was an Indian product. Jay from snuff.me.uk stated that it is made in the UK, but would not say by who.

C

Here’s a link to that thread:Jaxon’s

A

Toque or Wilsons maybe. Wilsons seem to be the most prolific contract brand manufacturer in the UK.

Z

I feel like Jaxons is so unlike anything I’ve had from Roderick that I’m willing to bet it’s not made by him. I could be completely wrong on this, but I’ve never had a toque snuff as short lived in my nose as Jaxons seem to be.

T

Jaxons does not seem like Wilsons at all, nor Toque, nor Dholakia. The grind is different, the flavor different.

B

I see it’s made by nabisco per chance? (just wanted to guess one that non one else would have guessed.)

R

I was told 2 weeks ago, it´s made by a guy called “John”. But I didn´t ask which company this person is from. For my part they may stay incognito, as long as they produce such fine products…

C

This is not made by wilsons , toque or dholakia ! Okay, I’ll tell who its made by. The manufacturer is ;asldkfjasd;lfk. That’s wierd, my keyboard keeps messing up. Its made by a;lskdjfas;dlkf. Strange.

G

Oh I know them, they also made adfojhjdifgha if im not mistaken. What the adfojhjdifgha, i wrote something different!! I demand answers!! What now the the doorbell? OMG its them!!! Whaaaaaaaaaaaa… Sorry, Im drunk again.

C

I’ll be at your level soon, Stefan.

D

I know who its made by but I’m sworn to keep it secret lol but I do know who it is lol

D

All I can say is their male I hope this helps in the quest

R

Hehe, this is stupid. I´ve asked myself for months who makes this snuff and when I meet someone who knows, I don´t ask. Just didn´t care anymore. He just said the name of the guy making it, and I didn´t jump it. But after all, it ain´t important who makes it. I care more for the perfection of the English Toffee. Splendid stuff.

N

I’m maybe off the mark but after having a bag of Blenders Bundle and a tin of English Toffee side by side tonight I’m betting that the same blender produces both. It just seems a little similar in grind, moistness and for what ever reason one reminds me of the other.

B

@Norwester That is an interesting idea. I am not sure the background tobacco flavor that is common to all three of Jaxons is the same as Blenders Bundle. Tim from the Snuffstore said it was a private person that makes all of his snuffs. All of this is very interesting.

C

I have a hunch that Bespoke makes the Snuffstore blends, and if that’s right, then Jaxons and SS snuffs are not made by the same people.

D

Lol I. Soooo want to say his name but I won’t lol

S

Respect the secret as I have. If you like the snuff then why would it matter who makes it.

C

Agreed, Snuff Head.

P

Well, it says Jaxon’s English Toffee on the label, so obviously the snuff is made by Jaxon. Keep going, Jaxon, you’re doing a fine job!!

T

Michael Jaxon???

S

Wrong, it’s Jermaine Jaxson; Michael has snuffed it.

T

LOL, John!!

S

Just got a tin of this today, along with Jaxon’s Cafe Creme. The Toffee is absolutely delicious. The Cafe Creme has a wonderful tobacco base, but not so much a coffee cream flavor.

A

I never understand the secrecy about who makes what. Does it really have a business impact if people know? Juts on principle I like to know who I am giving my very hard earned money to.

S

I could care less about the person who makes it, but I wouldn’t mind knowing the company behind it. I just know I like it.

W

Do the tins have any of the usual warnings on them? I don’t see one in the picture shown, is there one on the bottom? I don’t know this snuff, never had any by this maker at all, just joining the curiosity, and thinking they’d have to at least have the warnings, would likely need to be some sort of compliant to stuff somewhere. I might personally be a little reluctant to put something in my nose that’s quite to this degree of a mystery. If they can’t tell us who they are, have they been able to tell whats in the snuff even? I’m kind of reminded with this of another thread a week or two ago with the 'hey guys I’ve got some great Tibet snuff I’d like to sell and can you help me find out more about it" oddness …I have enough snuff anyway, I think I’m just about to the end of my curiousity phase (not a lot left out there I’d like to try but haven’t, only a very few left and then it will be onto more of the weeding sorting and then last final steps of stockpiling a remaining select few) Granted when I really stop and think about it I don’t actually know who “Roderick” or “Namrata” etc really are either, but they do at least have their personal first names out there as well as company names and general information online I can see and at least take on faith and take reassurance from that (and I’ve decided that Roderick is really an oompa loompa anyway and Toque is the Wonka Factory of Snuff)

C

Jaxon’s is a legitimate snuff, no reason to be “reluctant”.

P

But he has a point if there is no point of production detail or health warning? If that is true, how are they selling legally? I am sure they ARE legit as you say, but with greatest respect, poster asked for verification, and I’m not sure a confirmation of ‘yes they are’ by a forum member satisfies that? I also would like toknow more about jaxons just sayin!

T

They have a health warning on the back. And they say Made in England.

P

Fair enough! That wasn’t clear from the thread. Still not sure who makes it though

X

Jayjay is a member of this forum and the owner of snuff.me.uk. He (they) presumably also own the Jaxons brand. He’s stated in the past that it is a contract brand from a MAJOR UK snuff mill. It’s the proprieter’s right to have that much as a trade secret. Its perfectly legitimate. Please read eveything before inciting panic.

P

Woah! Hang on! I didn’t start it, and was not trying to incite anything! I see a thread with lots of cryptic ‘i might know’ hints followed by genuine poster expressing some concern. I agreed with that concern and supported it, to be met with reply that just basically said , ‘trust me’ your last post does however help even more. Hell, I feel bad cos I have ordered from that store and love the service, but scaremongerer I am not…

X

I didn’t say you were.

S

Wow. All this because I dug up an old thread to say I liked their English Toffee snuff.

P

‘please read everything before inciting panic’. Or maybe I’m being over sensitive…

C

He was not directing that at you, pauljmuk.

P

Starbucks makes it!

S

I’ve not tried this one yet, although I haven’t tried many snuffs mind you. I’ll have to make a note to pick it up in my next order, whenever that very well maybe!!Probably sometime this month I think. This economic climate we’re facing is a right… Well, anyway, like I said I’ll pick it up lol.

A

Just to tell you guys , Jamie from Snuff.me.uk is selling Jaxons drums now (50,250 and 500 gr) Cafe Creme is one of my favorites

P

Am happily gonna take a trial sample from snuff me now. Sorry for all the confusion before

S

Does anyone happen to know the base tobacco used in the Jaxson’s snuffs? Its almost “pipe tobacco” like smelling.

P

The “Jaxon’s” are VERY nice snuffs. And there is NO poison in there. I mean, here I am to testify for that. I’ve been using it for 2 years already with no ill effects. As for the base, I’m pretty sure Jaxons use tobacco to manufacture this product. It LOOKS like tobacco, it SMELLS like tobacco, it TASTES like to tobacco and it’s got a NIC HIT like tobacco. So it’s got to be tobacco.

T

My 1st real nasal snuff was Jaxons Cherry Menthol, and I don’t have it anymore, but I am wanting it again, as it seemed so good, and I am thinking it was the best cherry menthol, but I’d need it again to confirm that.

A

Of course it is legitimate to have contract brands and the brand owner has every right in a legal sense to not reveal the manufacturer. So I ask this question purely out of interest and for no other reason than that; but exactly what is the reason for the maker to be a secret? This is a snuff ‘hobby’ website and most of us are interested in all things snuff; so why the guessing games? There is clearly no ‘Jaxons’ snuff mill (maybe no Jaxon for that matter) and its established that it is a contract brand, so what is the business imperative about keeping it secret?

B

possibly to protect the person who is the manufactuer. Since they have an identity that they’ve created over how long and if people consider jaxons to be another one of their brands that doesn’t fit into the image they’ve cultivated then might make people expect jaxons like snuff from them.

X

Kind of like Led Zeppelin. From what I remember they got such terrible reviews on their third album that their name became kind of associated with rubbish. So, when releasing their 4th album they insisted that their name should appear nowhere on the cover, inside, or even on the spine. As it stands that album became one of the best selling albums of all time, and included many classics like “Stairway to Heaven”. If Jaxons wants to appeal to a certain market, younger people I’m guessing, then they probably would want to create a bit of distance between themselves and the parent company. The parent company’s name would probaby be associated with old fashioned, rustic, or some other such image, that today’s youth would not identify with. To us as hobbyists, image means less to us, so perhaps sometimes we overlook that aspect of the marketing. I guess I said what bob just said, but with more words. One day I must master the art of brevity.

P

What he said… (brevity version! )
