Jaxons English Toffee, McCrystals & Mild Lemon

Today my Jaxons arrived from Snuff Store. It arrived from Nosebag faster then I’d expected. Not to say snuff from him doesn’t arrive pretty quick on the regular. I’ve never had to wait very long at all. Jaxons English Toffee has a very enticing taste. I’m not big on Toffee but I like this snuff. I believe I detect a slight hint of milk chocolate, its has a smooth buttery taste as well. The Snuff is a fine grind and very moist. It’s has a rich dark brown color, one of the few snuff I have seen so dark in color. There’s a slight kick, if inhaled to far back by accident. I like that the container has a large flip top and is refillable. For a new snuff I find it delicious. The flavor last for a good long time, which is very nice. Jaxons Café Cream is one I would recommend not passing up. It’s like walking in to a Starbucks or some fancy coffee shop. This is an extremely awesome snuff. It’s beyond my ability to describe. Hopefully someone else on this forum has tried it. If I had to pick one between the two Jaxons I definitely try the Café Cream first. It’s also fine grind and very moist, with a dark rich color. The Tobacco it’s made from is really good. The Café Cream Flavor and tobacco is long lasting as well. If you like coffee snuffs you have to give this one a try. It’s really smooth and creamy with no odd or artificial taste. Extremely easy on the nose no sting at all. I didn’t find anything about the scent that made me feel uncomfortable or say what in the world is in this stuff. At less not in a negative way, I was more amazed at the quality and how the maker made it taste so darn good. Almost forgot to mention I had another treat. I had never tried McChrystal’s Mild Lemon Snuff. I love Wilsons Lemon Grove. But I have to say McChrystal’s ML is Top Shelf. I really enjoyed the smell of lemon and I had not even opened the container. It has a stronger Lemon flavor, but it wasn’t anything I could not handle. I like the tobacco used in making this snuff as well. I think Nosbag & Julia have me pretty pegged when it comes to my taste. Which makes me feel very good. Thanks Julia for picking an extremely adequate replacement. I haven’t tried my Hedges L260, I figured I’d just have it on hand incase someone came down with a cold then try it. But who know I might crack it open. But for now I’m just enjoying looking at the tin it came in.

Hi Kim Thanks for posting those reviews. I think it was a very good thing that you had a few months build-up of snuff experience before you tried McChrystals Mild Lemon. I first tried Mild Lemon when I had been snuffing for a very short time and it punished me badly. The Mild Lemon is a rewarding & wonderful snuff for the intermidiate to experienced snuffer but a nightmare for the newbie! LOL I think I may order some of the Jaxons Cafe Cream when I get the chance…

sounds really good. The jaxons that is.

I always wonder how much other snuffers are using at a time compared to what I’m using. I went from the size of a rice grain to now a comfortable size as you can see on the photo. Please keep in mind that my hand are small compared to a mans hand as to the amount of the snuff poured on it as well. It’s a tad bit more then I usually use, but I poured it from Jaxons, which has a large flip top. I take one this size in each nose. Give it a few minutes and taste it again. I’m sure it factor into how harass a snuff may taste to me. Anymore then that it’s too powerful for the first try. I might end up with a stinging pain in my head or feel a rush. Which spoils the pleasure of experimenting and me figuring out if I really like this snuff or not. I want to taste it, figure out what I’m tasting, try to have a clear since of smell. I’ve found pain does nothing for me but distract me from getting a clear perspective on Judging the snuff. Because I’m concentrating more on the pain then what the snuff really taste like. I hear others talk about how much they take, but it is hard for me to imagine without a photo. So I thought I would add a photo of what I snuff. My father laughed when I started and told him I use the size of a grain of rice. I know it’s not a lot, but if I enjoy the snuff. I can always try more a few minutes later. Unlike if I had to much I will not want to touch it and the experience is ruined for me that day. Plus I’m still on cigs, and find that using a little snuff at night is wonderful after dinner. My father is not a big fan of snuff though I’m trying to change his mind. He does like Tia late night, so he does not have to go outside (he’s 81) to have a cig. It was hard work getting my dad to even try snuff. He like many had ideas of snuff as being pretty much undesirable from seeing people in his youth use it like his Grandmother. Giving it a try himself at a young age was a horrible experience. He’d had the snuff for weeks I sent and would not touch them. It took my 30 year old nephew to visit and give them a try for my Dad to take his first taste. Plus I told my nephew how to open the flip tops which he showed my father. I had to sell them on flavor and European snuff is nothing like American snuff. My brother took to it right away in South Florida, being adventures to taste European snuff. He loves the snuff I sent him. They were not full containers but ½ and I kept some for myself just so he could try it. My brother (Smoker trying to stop) out right told me do not send him US snuff. He wanted to try the snuff from overseas. After two weeks of talking to him about it. I try to share the snuff I get with them that I really like. My father likes the Snuff Tia or Coffee snuff I make for him. My brother enjoyed Apricot and Tia Coffee I sent him. I hope in the following weeks to send them some Magnet Peach. They both know Georgia Peaches well, since they spent a number of years there in Georgia. I’m sure that will really knock them of there feet. I really believe as a beginner flavor is the way to go with them. Then expose them to really good tasting Tobacco the way I was introduced. There are many people to thank on this forum for helping me start using snuff and picking the right flavors to try. Some I liked other I never caught on to, but it gave me a scale to compare with. I took the advice of the Veterans on the forum as to never throw away snuff, but keep it. That my taste might change down the road. I’m sure I’m not using enough to stop smoking Cigs, but I’ve stopped pressuring myself. Cigs still taste bad, but I’m taking it slowly in moving away from Cigs.

Hi Kim I use about that amount in each nostril too, I guess that’s about standard although some people do take far more. With respect to cigs, which I mostly gave up last year, I found that using strong plain snuff was the key. I used a strong SP from Wilson’s (Tom Buck) and Toque original and natural, and just stopped the cigs. I have the odd one, and always will, but they are so far apart now that I don’t worry. I’ve not had one for a week but am going to a bar-b-q on Sunday and will most likely have a cig of someone - no big deal, it will be ages to the next one and I’m a grown up so I’m not going to get into any guilt thing. Even reducing cigs is good, so pat yourself on the back whenever you resist, and maybe have a little treat as well! Carrying a Toque bullet or snuff box also gives your hands something to do if you miss that You can do it Kim, don’t worry too much - its a hard fight Nigel

Does anyone know who makes Jaxons?

jayjay with snuff.me???
