I was out tonight and pulled out my snuff and lo and behold I met the first person I ever have who enjoyed snuffing. He hasn’t snuffed in years because the store he used to get his snuff from closed years ago. I told him I’d get snuff for him and he said his snuff was a jasmine scented one that came in a small pocket tin. I told him I’d get it and now I’m out looking for a few good choices. Any suggestions for a strong jasmine snuff? He does not recall the brand, so I’ll order the top 3 suggestions I get. Thanks everyone. I’m kinda excited having met personally a fellow snuffer having never met one before. He did mention the snuff he enjoyed was a fine powder.
i dunno where youre from @jimmyb but maybe that guy was snuffing the deans jasmine if it was a while ago in the usa ?

He’s an ex coal miner, lots of coal here in sw illinois, he never took to dipping but he liked the jasmine snuff before it disappeared from the stores. @jpsks
I have had the Wilsons of Sharrow and the G&H of this sort. I prefer the G&H much more but it seems likely due to availability that it was Wilsons of Sharrow that he was using.
probably dean swift. They had a small pockey tin. If he liked that he’d probably like well any of the others. He might even say wow I missed out not having these other jasmine snuffs.

I agree with @bob. It almost certainly was Dean Swift. They had a good distribution in the USA for years, and their tins were the little pocket ones. DS Jasmine was vile stuff, mnd you. The WoS is basically the same thing but without menthol. I actually came to like the Wilsons, but it took some getting used to.
Could have been Gawith Hoggarth, their Jasmin was one of the few that got sold in shops in the US, though I don’t think the distribution was very wide.
its a much better jasmine then the D.S. which was very not floral really. The G H actualy really smells like the flowers. I’d get him to try several jasmines. Frankily if he was my friend I’d buy a bunch of jasmines let him try them all and when he found his favorite I’d let him keep the tin.
I like them both, frankly I think they’re not so different scent-wise, I don’t find the DS to be overly mentholated and neither smells artificial to me. But to each his own. I’ll have to try the GH out of a tub, out of a tap box it wasn’t thrilling at all, but I didn’t know any better back then.
I ordered the G.H. the D. S. and the Qsnuff. That’ll last him a bit, I can order the wos when he asks me for a can of what he wants when he tells me he needs more. Thanks everyone.
