Just tried this one for the first time. Easy to take and a clean menthol flavour, albeit a bit boring. Not dissimilar to Hedges L260 but not as strong (which some might see as an advantage) but also not as complex and fine. A pretty pedestrian menthol snuff, but easy to take, no drip to speak of and it’ll find a place in my rotation I think. Could be a great one for a winter morning, especially if you have the snuffles.

Exactly my feelings about this snuff. At first I was rather enthusiastic, but about half-way the tin I became bored with it. What makes this unique in comparison to Hedges and O&G (my favorite menthols), is that I detect a citrus-note; like sort of an SP Menthol.
I haven’t had Medicated No.99 for about 20 years, but I seem to remember that it was basically SP No.1 with the addition of menthol and eucalyptus. At that point, J&HW still did a straight Menthol as well.
I like it, it’s a great decongestant at the snotty end of a cold.
I find it a bit dry and dusty but still a very enjoyable menthol. It does have its own character.
I thought it was good but really generic and forgettable. Not a bad snuff at all and I had no trouble finishing the tin before it went bad but just not as exciting as Hedges to me.
