I’ve found a sieve!

S

Just decanted some of my bulk Grand Cairo into a 10g Wilson/Sam Gawith/Tranters type tin. I notice a puff of snuff as I placed the lid. Beware, that is not rust. The tin was clean it’s just snuff from my fingers.

X

Eh? So you have holes in the tin? On purpose?

S

@Xander, LOL! I place the snuff into a better tin and presented it to ermtony last night in our pub. I also brought in that ‘sieve’, so Tony could see it with his own eyes.

E

It really was full of holes! Never seen one like that before. Now enjoying super-fresh Grand Cairo

S

And I think I told you what snuff was once in there. You won’t be purchasing that again LOL!

X

Did you have it in your pocket with keys or something sharp? Did you drop it in concrete or asphalt, or some other rough and hard surface? I’m baffled. Am I going to have to inspect all my tins, now? I can’t imagine snuff eating through steel.

S

@ Alex:- No to all, to your questions. It is strange, but steel is only strong because it knows the ponding and white heat. I once had a household paint tin go in a strange manner, it looked like someone had scored it with a Stanley Knife. I think it would be stresses of bending the tin.

Beware; he who sails in ships of steel, there’s a-lot going for the wooden ones.
