It has finally happened!

K

Ok so those of you who remember I have posted discussions and the questions many times about just how can you quit using smokeless tobacco completely with nasal snuff. I finally decided that I would just put the Copenhagen down for several weeks and use nasal snuff only. I must say it was very difficult at first but I got to where I enjoyed it. Today I bought a can of Copenhagen because it was the freshest I have ever seen a can (1 day old). I threw in a chew and after about 20 minutes I was still not satisfied. I wanted some rooster. I went got my tin took several pinches and I was instantly satisfied and refreshed. I now would rather have nasal snuff than my old Copenhagen. And I was thinking it was impossible. Anyone else now crave nasal snuff over their old habit?

T

I do Kincaidc I still smoke about a pack every 3 to 4 days, but I still feel the need to snuff after a cigg. They dont hit the spot like they use too, but snuff sure does!

K

Heck yes it does hit the spot! Bout to take another pinch right now

I quit cigarettes a month ago, cold turkey. I can even drink beer and not smoke. i’m happy. of course, i chew tobacco 2 times a day and enjoy my nasal snuff when i’m not at work.

I quit with snuff and snus for about 2 months, but I also started dieting and discovered I just can’t lose weight AND quit smoking, so I smoke maybe 4 or 5 cigs a day and keep up the nic with snuff and snus when not smoking. I’ll probably drop cigs again when I’ve lost some more choobage; besides Michigan is going smokefree on May 1st so that’ll curtail a lot of the social smoking I used to do. Dammit.

T

I still have a lot of snus, and a little dip and chew, but I am seriously considering quitting oral tobacco. I think I want to use up what I have, as I do like it, but I do have some gum wear concerns. I may change my mind, and I still have a bit stored up, but this is on my mind.

O

Well kincaid, sounds as tho your brain has successfully re-wired itself for the snuff! I’m still at snus and snuff, sunup to sundown with the occasional hit on my e-cig. If I were to do away with any of the three it would be the e-cig!

K

I guess it has been rewired. I like it though because I can go all day with no tobacco at all and other days I want to snuff all day. I feel way better and no more sores in my mouth.

N

This sort of fits the conversation. I have been using snuff, snus, pipes and nicotine gum. Guess what irritates my gums. The nicotine gum. I have to quit it in favor of snus when I want some oral nicotine. Must be the chemical in the gum.

likewise Nicotine Nasal Sprays bother the bejesus out of my nose yet snuff does not

I’ve been cutting down on ‘dip’ type tobacco. There are a couple times a week when it still feels nice to have a big wad in , of either chew or dip, but snuff is my # 1 now too. Snus is so nice when your hands are greasy or full of gas, working on something,(when, without a spoon ,snuffing is not practical) or welding , where spitting into your helmet becomes an issue, haha,So I think I will always have some snus on hand.

Great Topic!! I have recently noticed that snuff is more satisfying than snus. I used to get a little rhinitis when taking snuff which I think blocked the nicotine uptake for me. I’ve since gotten into the rhythm. The only problem I have now is that I have a little congestion and it prevents me from enjoying the tobacco base of my favorite snuffs. I noticed this yesterday when I took some IDH #22, my nose didn’t react badly to the snuff and when I blew out the tobacco base flavor was absolutely gorgeous with this snuff. Cheers to getting over the hump Kincaidc. For me it was all a matter of finding the rhythm.
