n9inchnails, harlequin, khalid, thorgrimnr have high post counts/badges and have 2 + years in Indiansnuff, I would think would be eligible under the “outstanding service” clause if he gets his shop off the ground. jari T has been here longer than most of us, and is still active, though does not have a high post count. kurtsnose & crullers are almost at the 2 year mark (next month). justin, koba22 low post count, but active for more than 2 years likewise with TheBoggart, but not sure if he’s interested or not from his comment

I received a PM from Mouse, he asked me to delete his account. He told me that he finds “the whole ISTA thing repugnant” and is trying to “be civil about it”. Do you think we can anticipate more backlash like this?
I think a lot of people have the wrong idea about it. Try to explain to him what it is and could potentially be. Also let him know that its hardly siphoning any discussion from the main forum, as there are only a handful of comments there, all pertaining to what the ISTA should even do. Also let him know that its been there longer than he’s been here, or you or I for that matter. I’d hate to lose Mouse. He’s clearly eligible too. We’ll probably have to make a statement at some point to the forum, on who we are and what our mission is.
I’m waiting for him to respond. If he does I’ll address it.
Ok looking at those applications: distained has not met the 2 year mark. I like using 2 years as a benchmark since we get a lot of short term members that are very active for a few months then disappear. Then we get some medium term folks who are active but seem to disappear or become inactive before they reach the 2 year mark. I like this because it shows who is really dedicated. Its not an arbitrary date. Do you agree? If so we should formalize the entrance requirements, have the ISTA members vote on them and then make them public. Firestarter same as above. I’m not keen on him anyway, but maybe I’ll warm up to him if he stays with us for another year. Skell 18 he’s also not got 2 years. TheBoggart yes, he’s got the time creds. DoctorBeat is clearly a veteran, been here longer than me, though I think he’s only resufaced recently nosemboss, not quite to the 2 years yet. Also I made Filek a member, he asked if he could see the ISTA threads, so I told him just to be a member. He’s clearly qualified, though he’s unsure if the ISTA is what he wants it to be. I told him join in and help shape its direction. Any word from Mouse? He’s not been back at all? Maybe we should email him.
Oh, General desaix also in the applicant request queue. He’s brand new, so no. Although he’s talking about writing a book about us, so maybe once its published it could qualify as outstanding service to snuffing. We’d have to see it and then get the ISTA to vote on it, I think.

So… I approved Boggart but not doctorbeat… This is a mess up since they both have the same creds in terms of post frequency.
I went ahead and invited doctorbeat. I guess we should have some threshold for continuing membership so if a member falls dormant their membership is revoked.
Now people (Skell18) are bitching about the 2 year requirement. I’m starting to regret the entire thing.
Hmm. Maybe we should ask the existing ISTA to vote on the membership requirements. Skell is ok, and he’s only got a few more months to go. Maybe ask him if he would like to include any “outstanding service to the promotion of snuff” or whatever the clause is, in his application. If he can provide something we would reconsider. I don’t know what else to do.
