@MrSnuff will you be stocking these new toasts for us all to order. loved the ones I purchased recently … maybe thats why you did an offer … a bit of inside information maybe ? 8-}
@Manit_Joshi arrived today with thanks. Will get snuffing and report back. Thanks again!
@Manit_Joshi look forwarding to hearing your views what are the toasts you received ?
@Derek_007 The New Toast Snuff name is Madras Toast. We have send randomly Toast Snuff A, B & C with little variation to different user. Hence when you are posting reviews please mention accordingly. Based on your reviews we will finalize the end product i.e Madras Toast. The design of Madras Toast will be ready in few days. In addition to Madras Toast we have also send Herbal Snuff. I will be awaiting reviews for both.
I see, good idea … an ideal way to guage the market … love the current Dholakia toasts incidentally … and the white… taken carefully! :((
I have several madras , awesome nicotine. Glad to see more Madras on the market
Yeah, I love the Nic hit I get from NB Madras! I’m excited about this.
I don’t know if any of you remember doing this for Jaap when he was developing Gingerbread…he sent three variations…none of us could decide…all of us ended up mixing them all together…we told Jaap…and that is the Gingerbread you know and love today
@Pablo Awaiting your reviews on the toasts you received?
Looking forward to receiving mine… I love TPS and NB Madras, but there just to dam hard to get hold of here in the UK… I am hoping these are as good, and that @MrSnuff will stick it with his other Dholakia snuffs. @Manit_Joshi are you able to give us an idea of whats in the snuffs? are they ghee based ?
@Manit_Joshi I will be most pleased to respond as soon as the sample arrives. Thanks again for asking for feedback from ‘the troops’ so to speak.
@Manit_Joshi sorry for the delay. I received the Madras A. The fragrance out of the bag is lovely. Like all toast for me actually getting it in my noise is a bit of a palaver, once in though i met a solid burn, not unpleasant at all and following this a lovely aroma in the noise followed by an intense nic hit. I would recommend it for everyone to try. The other snuff i received was labeled herbal. This is not for me unfortunately. The best i can say is that it was intense. Thanks again for sending the samples. The Madras A gets a big thumbs up!
I wonder if the herbal is the same as the free one I got at Mr snuff.if it is I quite like that one.
Madras Toast Design
Ok it’s come!I’ve got sample b…first sniff and I get a menthol blast which eases off nicely bringing in behind it honey and roast nuts followed by fried buttery scent. The grind is fine but semi moist and is very easy to take.almost the same colour as HDT. Good nic hit also.seems a very refined toast.nothing like the nb madras I have.scent lasted around 1 5mins and fades off.overall 8/10.would I buy it?Yes. The herbal I will try tomorrow night.
Thanks for the reviews I would really appreciate if you can mention Madras A, B or C while posting your reviews to get better idea. I believe @Pablo review was for Madras A while @snuffykib review was for Madras B.
Correct @Manit_Joshi mine was Madras A.
@Manit_Joshi Just recieved my sample of Madras C. The grind is fine, but moist enough to make it very easy to sniff, even for a fairly new snuffer such as myself. I sense no menthol or any other “medicative” ingredient, there is however a kind of licoricy (salt licorice, not the sweet kind) quality to it that somehow makes it kind of refreshing. The scent is not overwhelming by any means, but not very subtle either. Scent lasts for a couple of minutes. I got backdrip after a couple of pinches, which stings a bit, but not more than any ordinary snuffer will be able to handle. I did, for example, not feel any urge to drink something to repel it. On the whole a fine, licoricy snuff. Damn, this reviewing business it tough.
Yes mine is madras B.The herbal is a medicated blast up your nose.it will wake up in the morning. Menthol and a sutle herb sits in background. The flavour is not very strong though.mainly all I get is the menthol.not bad to take very refreshing I’d say.i prefer my nic so I rarely use herbal snuff.if you are into herbal snuff I would recommend it.
I received Madras A The grind and moisture (dry) is perfect for me and what I like in a toast, very like a slightly darker F&T HDT in appearance The snuff is easy to take with no drip, and a mild burn I get a menthol blast, not something I usually enjoy and not what I expect from a madras? Though it does eases off. behind that is a wonderful nutty ,buttery (ghee?) tobacco scent. Good nic hit. The snuff was flavorful in the nose for 20 minutes or so. Would I buy it, not sure, certainly not as a typical Madras, lower the menthol a bit more and I would, as it is its reminiscent of many other Indian snuffs. However, behind the menthol is a wonderful buttery madras style tobacco flavor, but it struggles to get through. I personally think the menthol hides that, and (for me) kind of ruins it as madras style snuff. I may buy occasionally as a one off a bit like a Kalish, which the menthol reminds me of, but would have to stick with NB or TPS as a go to plain tobacco madras. Obviously this is just my opinion and tastes, even my own vary , I am just not a menthol snuff person Derek
I probably missed the boat on the sample, but Manit, I sent you a request with my address anyway. I’d love to try your new snuff!
@Manit_Joshi what are the differences in the the samples, is one less menthol or medicated? I would love to try that one, your tobacco base on this is really good. On its own it would be a quality Madras (in my opinion) 8-} and a good addition to the other Dholakia toasts out there… And hopfully stocked by @MrSnuff ? Its hard to get other Madras Snuff here in the UK you could be onto a good one
not a review, but reading other’s reviews, sample C sounds interesting, I like a touch of licorice or a touch of anise if that is what is in it and I like Madras style snuff; the anise snuffs I have tried are too heavily scented/flavored for my taste. Not a fan of menthol unless it is heavily masked with other scents.
I received Madras A It has a beautiful color, almost like cacao powder. It’s silky smooth & snuffs incredibly easy. While decanting it to a small jar I noticed a strong menthol/medicated aroma. I took several pinches and POW, all I could taste/smell was menthol. If not for my nose getting clogged up, I could on occasion enjoy this, with smaller pinch’s, I thought. I tried it 3 more times with the pinch’s smaller each time. Same results, clog city. I can normally enjoy a lightly medicated snuff, but unfortunately, this one is too much for me. It would seem that I enjoy my Madras/Toast snuffs unmedicated. A big thank you to Manit Joshi for sending the snuff !
@Derek_007 Thanks for the reviews on Madras A. Honestly I am not able to understand your comment on Menthol as all Madras Toast A,B and C is without Menthol. Yes, Herbal Snuff has menthol in it but Madras toast is pure high quality Tobacco.
interesting that several folk found menthol in the Madras, could it be cross contamination from the herbal that was included in your samples? Seems odd though.
Very strange then…my madras b has menthol or medicated feel straight away in nose.over a few days of airing it out this has got better.not as much menthol but still very noticeable.
After using it during the weekend this are my impressions: MADRAS " B" I find it great ! the tobacco grind and moisture seems perfect to me, it´s fine grind and medium -dry i´m a beginner with the toasts but had no difficulty on taking it. The aroma is of a high quality tobacco with a menthol starting high note and later a small hint of nuttiness that I like but it´s short lasting, the menthol is not overpowering but masks a bit too much the tobacco notes. the burn is medium not painful but noticeable. The nicotine level it´s very good, I find that your madras nicotine delivery is more gradual than other madras style snuffs that I´ve tried. The overall impressión of your product is of a very sofisticated snuff that can appeal to the uninitiated because it´s easy to take and to the more seasoned snuffers because of it´s high quality tobacco and nicotine content. If it comes into production i´ll make sure to buy some for my stash. HERBAL I like this, the menthol is high but fades rapidly leaving a freshness in the nose, the grind is medium and it´s medium moist with a tendency to clump together, it produces an relaxing and uplifting effect without the sharp “buzz” of the nicotine. to me the only drawback is that the aroma after the menthol is very mild, I can´t exactly pinpoint what it is but i find it spicy (maybe ginger?) and some herbs. Not a bad product at all.
I forgot to say that each sample came stapled inside a DHOLAKIA triptic, each inside of a termosealed bag ,I had to cut it to get the snuff. If there´s no menthol in the madras toast maybe is a case of cross contamination between it and the herbal snuff in the same envelope.
Don’t know how it can cross contaminate my bags were sealed tight.but may be in the factory they got it there somehow.i like it like that the menthol soon disappears.
I would like to try it without the menthol contaminate. I imagine it would be even better.
@Manit_Joshi Yep it’s defiantly quite highly medicated. Seems a lot of the reviews are saying menthol. Mine is almost kailash like
I got Madras A. I wasn’t expecting the menthol! It’s not a massive amount, but it does dominate initially. Once it fades, the overall impression is more Madras than High Dry Toast. It is more civilised than a straightforward Madras, and relatively easy to take, but there is still a scent remeniscent of NB Madras in the background. Given that my tastes run towards the more highly flavoured - Wilsons Tom Buck and Jockey Club, schmaltzlers and Chef Daniel’s amazing confections - I don’t think I would be likely to buy it. However, it is seems to be a good, solid everyday snuff and nicely done.
I, too, got Herbal and Madras A and agree with @Pablo The herbal was not what I look for in snuff. The Madras A was nice but it didn’t strike me as either a Madras or a Toast. I’m very new to Madras but I love NB Madras, with TPS coming in a close second. I like this one, but I’m not sure if I’ll buy it or not. Once I finish the sample I might change my mind, but halfway through…not sure.
What exactly is a Madras? And where can I find some? I lookey, no findey.
I got Madras A too, is it possible that the slightly fresh and bitter aroma comes from the plastic packaging ? It’s not much, but strong enough to cover the underlying scents. I’ll air it out for a while, plastic aroma only for me at the moment.
As I understand it the term Madras refers to a region of India.
So anything coming from that region or in the style of that region is madras.
I got the samples today, Madras B and herbal snuff. The herbal snuff is nice and refreshing, quite strong in menthol. It’s not bad. Madras B has a great base tobacco smell - salty, nutty, toasty. BUT there is some menthol present, like other reviewers have said. @Manit_Joshi you said the toast samples are not medicated in any way, so I believe it may be a cross contamination issue, as there was a strong menthol smell right when I opened the letter.
@Manit_Joshi perhaps it would be a good idea, if you send any more samples out, to leave out the herbal snuff.
Hmmm… has anyone else not gotten their sample yet? I’m curious now what a mentholated toast will taste like.
Dholakia A Dark brown, fine, medium moisture. Strong menthol on first smell: almost like Dholakia Sparrow Cool. On the nose, the menthol turns into a tide of freshness that can easily overwhelm the rich tobacco flavour. For me, this snuff mends wathever there was in Sparrow that prevented it from agreeing with my nose and brings out even more cigarish notes, and that’s quite an interesting feat to be sure. No clog, but I’ve never taken a snuff that got my nose running like this: it will be better without menthol. There seems to be an agreement over the presence of menthol on the three madras types, and I can’t but join the ranks of the freshness-perceivers. Reluctantly, of course. Herbal I’ve already reviewed Dholakia Herbal for this site and I won’t bother you with my ramblings again, but this instance of such snuff featured less menthol and was more delicately scented and finely milled. It’s an improvement of an already good product.
Hmmm… has anyone else not gotten their sample yet? I’m curious now what a mentholated toast will taste like.
Mine hasn’t arrived yet, but I’m not surprised. Canada Post takes it’s sweet old time. I was hoping to have it for the weekend but no luck.
Mine hasn’t arrived too. I aspect it next week hopefully.
@Manit_Joshi, I join the chorus with the cross-contamination issue. I received Madras A and Herbal. I could smell the Herbal through the small plastic packaging and the Madras was heavily mentholated. Now, I have aired it for a while (I received the package already on thursday), but the menthol is still partly there. Therefore i feel a little bit reluctant of giving any comments, because it is not just the menthol that has came over, but also some other herbal notes,I think, because they share plenty of similarity both. The toast is easy to pinch and settles very comfortably in the nose. When the menthol fades, hay, manure, saw dust or something similar are the picks I can descibe. I like the base tobacco scent, but I cannot really give a good review at the moment. I’m sorry. Herbal. Beats the sugar based tobacco-free alternatives, which I have tried. Unfortunately not much of a menthol dude myself so I would have a bit less of it there. Also the first pinches made me sneeze like five times every time. Interesting stuff.
Madras A :same menthol. aired for a whole day still heavy menthol I let it air for a week. I wish they had asked for taste testers for the herbal separate. I would had declined for non tobacco. I need my vitamin N
I just opened my Madras A sample. Undeniably a mentholated snuff in my view. In the Indian way, the menthol is not over-powering, but still present. I could use it, and I probably will, but my general feeling is the less menthol, the better, all the way down to zero, so I doubt I’ll buy it. But if you like lightly mentholated snuffs, it’d be fine. One day I’ll open the herbal snuff, but the idea just doesn’t appeal to me.
The menthol is slowly fading. I must say, that I have no experience with Madras snuff. I am not really sure why this is nominated as a toast. There is not much toastness in the blend in my opinion. The tobacco aroma is strong and nice, but the strong nicotine hit, dryness and toast-aroma, usually associated with toasts, do not really catch me. Of course only my opinion. This is Madras A btw.
@Manit_Joshi what was the outcome in the end, where the samples contaminated in postage or at source ? will fresh samples be going out or have you chosen?
Just got my samples. Madras A. Gonna take the cue to let it air out for a day or two to see if the menthol will dissipate.
Received a sample of Madras “A” a week ago. One word review … Delicious! Though I’m tempted to add another word … Incredible! No menthol that I could detect, and very small pinches resulted in the most incredible spicy aroma and taste I’ve ever experienced or imagined. larger pinches seem to mask the flavors, but either amount has a wonderful lingering after note. Every time I try to sit down and try to analyze the different flavors, I end up just sitting back and enjoying the experience, all thought of analysis gone. FWIW my opinion is after 60 odd years of using American Scotches and English HDT’s and have never before found a 'flavored snuff I could enjoy. I sincerely hope this version comes to market, in the meantime I’m being incredibly miserly with the bit I have left. Regards,
Received Madras A yesterday and emptied it out onto a plate to let it air out any menthol that might have snuck in. Loaded up a straw later in the day with a nice amount and blasted it up the snout blow tube style. Got a definite hit of menthol and a rush of nicotine giving way to a nice roasted nutty tobacco scent lingering a good while. Did the same about a half hour ago and the menthol has faded some more. Good stuff. The only reference I have for comparison is NB madras and this does share many similarities, this is less crude than the NB and maybe just a little lighter on the Nic but not much. I would definitely buy this. Thanks for the samples @manit_joshi.
I received Madras A today and have been spending the afternoon with it. As others have mentioned there is some light menthol in it, not overpowering but similar to Sparrow Cool. It’s not too much to completely hide the base tobacco, which I think is very nice. I’m happy to see that this is likely a result of cross contamination with the herbal sample and not something that will be included in the snuff. The grind is fine and the moisture seems a little on the dry side but what I find surprising is that it seems “heavy”, meaning that I don’t need to use the same caution that I do with the dry toasts. I can take very large pinches of this and the nicotine is definitely there. The tobacco scent is earthy and leathery with a touch of cigar, very pleasant. TPS is the only other Madras snuff I’ve tried and this one is more refined, less crude as @OleFactoryHugh stated in his comparison to NB Madras. I’ll definitely buy some of this once it’s on the market, especially since it won’t contain menthol.
@Manit_Joshi I got Madras C. First of all, I love the texture of it. Heavy but easy to pinch, easy to take. Like silk in the nose. As far as the flavor, I’m afraid I must agree with the others about the menthol. It’s a different kind of menthol than the others I’ve tried though. It doesn’t irritate my nose the same way others do. It does, however, mask any other natural tobacco flavor that might be there. I could taste a little bit of it with the backdrip, but not enough to make a judgement on it one way or the other. In it’s current state, I would not buy it, not being a menthol fan. If the contamination issue were resolved, though, I would be very interested in sampling it again to see what the intended flavor was.
I’m intrigued to know what would be in the herbal, and for Madras B I got a liquorice scent, it wasn’t overpowering more subtle in the background so-to-speak, its got a good nic hit for me and yeah I like it!
I received the Madras C this past Monday, had alot of menthol scenting- so ,it’s airing out now but will check back once it has diminished. but even fresh was nice, but the menthol was masking most of the good stuff :-S
I left my sample on a plate for a couple days and the menthol is totally gone now:)
@OleFactoryHugh is there any flavor left at all though?
As Soon as my sample arrives and I have a bit of time to try it I will post my review. From what others have said so far, I can’t wait to try it
I find the menthol from the herbal to heavily compliment the spices of the snuff.
I’m starting to think Customs or my mailman intercepted my sample.
I am with you in that category @bigmick
Thank you all for being part of Madras Toast launch After receiving overwhelming response from thousands of snuffer all over the world We have decided to finalize Madras A I am sorry for all those who had bad experience because of cross contamination we will be giving out final product without menthol very soon. Got samples of the B and herb. B had some menthol detected. Separated the two and air dried the B for 3 days and seams to do the trick. Find this snuff to be unique, so have not really formed an opinion yet but seems good. Will try the herb today after tree pollen let’s my nose relax to get a honest pinch up there.
rats, I was hoping B would win production.
Madras A aired for 6 days still mentholated. :(( it does resemble a madras.
I guess really we could of had a sample of all three madras types.but I’m guessing they are all similar anyway.i would of liked to of sampled them all to give a better idea of them.i will look forward to buying madras A when it comes out.
Any madras is good with me. I cannot help but love it. I aired mine, all menthol is gone, but it still has a clearing and refreshing effect. The spices, salty butter, and some scent that reminds me of gingerbread had me sold after the first sniff.
just returned from out of town…only now got the sample! Late to the party I guess. I got madras C and I must say thank you VERY much to dholakia…I love it! I am sure I will also enjoy the A version. C reminds me of an anise or licorice, with a faint chocolate. The bag won’t last very long Thank you again!
@Mouse heh, you said “rats”
Why have I seen most got the A and not the B or C? Why have I seen most reviews for A and very little comment for B and C? Anyway I got the B and must B happy with that. Don’t get much for free nowadays, but samples of A,B,C to get real opinions of all the toast they plan to market to the the users would have been nice! The herbal snuff should have it’s own site called “Herbshack”. IMO.
Madras A aired for 6 days still mentholated. :(( it does resemble a madras.
Say I tried your trick to air out the B and really worked. I haven’t tried the A but B is well absent of any kind of menthol after 4 days. I guess it was in it with sample so my nose thinks it is still there, but B has another scent I am liking but really not a menthol that you could detect if told you were trying it. It dose have natural sent that I am sure you will detect when you try the B. Good but different. IMO.
Madras A was finalize after receiving reviews from many snuffers around the world, different forums and our regular clients. There are still many consignment on route whose reviews will be highly appreciated to improvise the final product. If you are looking for distribution or purchase of Madras Snuff please contact us on our email exports@snuff.co.in or David @MrSnuff for more details. Happy Easter! Manit Joshi
@Manit_Joshi, thanks very much for the opportunity to be a tester, and I hope the collective responses here were useful to you. I’m still pretty surprised at the contamination issue. The packages you posted were pretty well sealed. I never realized that scent could permeate like that. But all praise to Dholakia for the great snuffs you produce! Keep up the great work!
@JakartaBoy You will be pleased to know that we have resend samples of Madras to receive accurate review. This time only Madras A Snuff is in the package to avoid any cross contamination issue.
I left my sample on a plate for a couple days and the menthol is totally gone now:)
Plenty of good tobacco flavor after the menthol airs and really nice Nic buzz in the Madras A.
No menthol/plastic smell left and Madras A has a spicy tobacco flavor, it’s bitter/nutty and earthy, but very natural. While other snuffs block my nose, this one makes my nose run. There is a burn, but it’s not too strong and because of the moisture of the fine ground tobacco, it won’t get too high up your sinuses. Oh and it doesn’t taste smokey or specifically “toasted” to me, but IHT#22 is the only toast I have tried so far. Intense nicotine level, too much for me, I also prefer scented Snuffs, so I wouldn’t buy it, but it could be interesting for anyone who likes pure tobacco Snuffs.
received mine madras c … haven’t sampled it yet thou
I received the Madras “C” 9 days ago- very mentholated so I let it air for just about a week. About 99% un-menthol now. It definitely has a buttery nutty ( almost peanut ) flavour. Good hit and moderate burn upfront but very nice. Less spicy than a TPS Madras…Enough so you know it’s a Madras but mostly tobacco and very nice tobacco at that. Maybe we can re-review when the second solo samples come in, but I think that I would buy this based on what I can tell now. It’s very good. And behaves as a Toast.
I just wonder if A,B,C were all the same, It would had been nice all three samples together, for a more accurate comparison. Even with it being cross contaminated with menthol most enjoyed their samples. And there was an overwhelming response to finalize A. Hypothetically if you sent out A,B,C and asked which one you liked best and 51% said C that would been an accurate response. But I am no marketing guru.
I would be awaiting to hear your thought once you receive the second consignment of Madras only. Is there anyone who received the second consignment of Madras?
I would be awaiting to hear your thought once you receive the second consignment of Madras only. Is there anyone who received the second consignment of Madras?
No not as off yet.
I still haven’t received the first one, but I’m not surprised. I recently had two shipments from overseas take 2 months to get to me thanks to U.S. Customs. I’m hoping to receive them soon.
My sample took 26 days and had been tampered with I am pretty sure. In the Western U.S…
Hi @Manit_Joshi my new sample just arrived this morning of just the madras by itself. Thank you again and I will be sampling tonight. Thanks Paul
@Pablo Excellent! Please share your thought on Madras more specifically the difference between the first consignment and second consignment of Madras Snuff.
Finally got my original sample today. I got batch B. Unfortunately it it so infested with menthol that I can’t tell anything about the scent. I did get a hint of nuttiness, but it was so fleeting I may have imagined it. I’ll try again in a couple days.

My B also had time to marry with the herbmint. Air on plate for about 4 days and it seems to integrate back to itself. Unsweetened chocolate, nuts and prune or date- dry grass-hay flavor. Have had on plate in open air for about 10 days and gets better with every day. Sample has almost disappeared and wish I had got the A and C to complete evaluation of the new toasts. B is a good snuff. Thanks DTPL
Today I finally got the Madras A along with the Herbal sample. The Madras was completely infused with the aroma of the Herbal, unfortunately, so I can’t give a fair evaluation. That said, as a mentholated snuff it was pretty good.
I got my sample today. It was Variation B After spending some time with it here are my first impressions. After reading all of the other reviews, I was expecting a menthol bomb. However, to my surprise, though the menthol is present it is not overwhelming (which is saying something coming from me…….I am not a big fan of medicated/menthol snuffs). The grind is fine but not as fine as say white (what is). However the moisture level is fairly high so it is not a hard snuff to take. The initial nose impressions are: Menthol playing front and center. However, not far behind and in a strong supporting role, there is what I am assuming is a heavily toasted tobacco. The result is rather than a buttery toast effect, the scent is of a smoky chocolate (almost a slightly burned chocolate note- not burned in a bad or off putting way- it is actually very nice note that keeps it from being sweet or candy like). Upon the first nose blow (cause it is a menthol) I detected a floral accent that once noticed seem to linger in the far background and gave the whole mix a nice complexity. Oddly enough, the first snuff that came to mind as I pondered this one was Poschl Packards. I am not sure why. Though these two are very distinct snuffs, there is something there that seems similar. Maybe it is a nicely balanced menthol note, or the deeper secondary notes, or maybe I have just lost my mind. Regardless, variation B is a very well done medicated tobacco that might be a change of pace from some of the more traditional offering. It is well worth a try and I could see this one developing a real following. Not having tried A, I cannot comment, but B might be worth a release as the second member of a set (kind of like the two Sparrows). Thanks Manit for the sample. About time for another pinch Cheers Snifs
My B also had time to marry with the herbmint. Air on plate for about 4 days and it seems to integrate back to itself.
I put it in my SnuffHouse snuff box and I’ll give it another shot Monday or so.
My first sample arrived, Madras C, and it was impossible for me to smell anything but menthol. I took it out of the plastic bag it came in, hopefully it will air out. There was a teasing smell of something under the menthol but that was all I could get out of it.
@Bodger_Boggins , the menthol will definitely go away. I had the same issue with Madras C and i left it spread out on a plate for a week. It’s very good snuff!
@jmahes I’ve put it to air out a bit, hoping to be able to try it soon.

Don’t rush a good thing.
Ok my new madras sample has come.it came in perfect condition and double bagged. No contaminate. Nice burn upfront then a walnut nutty scent.hard to describe.not over powering and quite sutle. Nice tabacco base .not the same as madras b I received in the past but as good.I like the fact this is a nice plain tabacco and not heavy scented.very nice leathery scent.seems kinda strange but scent is like a new pair of trainers or shoes.best way I can describe it.very nice.thanks @Manit_Joshi
I’m confused by this whole thing. First, almost everyone reported menthol…then it was all thought to be a mistake (a matter of cross pollination)…then folks like snuffykib got walnut and shoe snuff with no menthol…and then Manit announced over at snuson the release of their new “Mentholated Snuff”
Considering the Overwhelming! Response that we receive for Madras Snuff Toast product we are planning to Introduce New Medicated No. 10 Snuff into the market.
Did we just test drive two separate snuffs?..or were two of the variation sent out meant to contain menthol… but the third was supposed to be without it… but that one got cross pollinated… and in the end it didn’t matter because the medicated #A won and is headed for production? Its either that…or the explanation is along the lines that Aliens in fact did build the Pyramids and most probably Detroit as well
Clarification about this snuff dispute should be delt with and explained by the rep to stop the madness!!!
It could be the aliens. .lol. The first batch was contaminated.so they are sending out madras A to everyone to test with no contaminate.also I believe he will send out mediated 10 a new one also to sample.but sent out separately at some time.i think…?
@snuffykib You are correct. @Snifs I have already mention in my earlier post that madras in not supposed to be mentholated because of Herbal and Madras in same bag for more than 15 days it got contaminated. Hence I resend Madras again separately to get correct reviews of the product. Medicated No. 10 is another snuff which we will be introducing very soon after receiving all the feedback. @nicmizer I hope I have made myself clear if you are still confused please email me on export@snuff.co.in for more details. You can also call me on +912846225222. I will be glad to answer all your questions. Best Regards Manit Joshi
Manit, Thanks for the clarification! I apologize for my confusion. I do remember you posting that the snuff had no menthol but then when you announced the release of the new medicated, I got confused. Anyway, I would love to try the uncontaminated snuff. Do we need to send our info to you again?
Got another Madras-sample today. Simply said “Madras” on the bag, no A, B or C. This one is far earthier than the C-sample I tasted before. Fine and silky, and packs nicotine like a motherfucker. Still carries the fennel-like quality, but much, much more subtle. Two thumbs up.
So my new madras sample. I think rhis is the same as madras a but without the herbal crossover. Its very strong nic wise and is much more i want to say peaty but i dont think thats the right word. Its very fine and dry and quite hard to snuff for me. I think i preferred the menthol one as i love menthol. Any how its a good quality stuff and if i was in the market for a toast i would buy it. Thanks again to @Manit_Joshi
@Manit_Joshi I have received by madras sample and … Its all I hoped it would be, minus the menthol, now here is a decent Madras, buttery with a decent nic hit and just the right burn, the tobacco flavor is wonderful… Well done and thanks for the samples. When can we expect to see this available at Mr Snuff? I will be ordering, its been hard to good a good madras here in the UK
When will it be on mrsnuff etc? Despite the fact that snuff without menthol has never been on my top 3 list, this snuff has, its sharing #1 with herbal and wos extra menthol. This new medicated you speak of, @Manit_Joshi , will it be buttery too? We need a mentholated madras!!!
I’m sad and angry that I didn’t get to be in on the sample taste test. I’ve been negligent about coming here recently. Too many stresses in other parts of my life. Don’t pity me though, I’ve just made a batch of my own snuff with Cohibas from Havana. I have no other Cuban snuff to compare it with, but its pretty damn good. But I still feel left out…
@Derek_007 & @Rogue I have requested @MrSnuff to stock Madras for sale. I will further let you know once we receive the Order for the same.
@Manin_Black lovely my bro!! Thanks.
@Manit_Joshi Thank you , they need a decent madras in stock
I have got a question for our test panel. I am not a big Medicated user However, I really enjoyed my menthol tainted sample of Madras B. Is there a medicated snuff out there that is similar? And/or is the new Dholakia Medicated similar (for anyone who has tried it)? Thanks for any help you can give
Is there a medicated snuff out there that is similar? And/or is the new Dholakia Medicated similar (for anyone who has tried it)?
Well, based on my sample of Madras A infused by Dholakia Herbal, I’d say it’s quite close to 6 Photos Kailash.
Try Radfords Premium. Acts and seems similar.
Thanks much guys
I have received following reviews on Facebook Group for Herbal Snuff Sit down for a long story, thank you. I’m 21 years old and suffer from anxiety. Like many of you, i received the samples from Dholakia, the new toast and herbal, good stuff. Being very skeptical and…well hesitant to use herbs, I read up a loooooooot on the ingredients of herbal. It was said to reduce anxiety and whatnot. “Bullshit” I thought to myself, and decided not to sniff it, sampling the new toast, pleased with that. Curiosity eventually got the best of me, and I took a whiff, slightly nervous, waiting to feel high. Nothing happened, but it smelled very good, who cares about anxiety relief with that perfect scent?! I used it every day for 2 weeks, just for the scent. I didn’t feel different at all…until I was running low and decided to save it till I could buy some more. Been a few weeks since I took any now, and anxiety came creeping. Without noticing it at all, I hadn’t had any anxiety for TWO WEEKS!!! That’s a long time, mind you. Has anyone had similar experiences with the herbal? Think well before you answer, I didn’t notice I had gone without anxiety till it came back again. Can we call this an actual MEDICAL snuff? Do post comments telling us about your feelings before and after herbal, even if there was no diff.
@Manit Nice story! Thanks for sharing it with us
@snifs : Sparrow Cool is not so far removed from my tainted sample.
@MarvinLapsus I love Sparrow but have never tried the cool…thanks much for the suggestion
@Manit_Joshi yes, that was my post indeed. Herbal helped me a lot, and I feel that others should know that it can help them too. A lot of the herbs in it were used in ancient medicine to treat anxiety etc, and it works better than anything I’ve tried long-term (on par with alcohol).
@Manit_Joshi, the sample arrived safely. Thank you! Will report in the next day or so. NEXT DAY: Excellent snuff! It’s definitely a natural tobacco snuff, but it has a dark chocolate undertone, and a slightly earthy flavor. As strong as any Indian snuff I’ve had and the Indian snuffs are the strongest. Nice velvety feel in the nose, fine but not very dry, so a light burn. I’ve still got a lot Sparrow tucked away, but when I’m in the market again, I’d split an order between this and Sparrow. This is another robust, strong, earthy, unpretentious Indian snuff and a very good one.
@Rogue Thanks for sharing your experience we are Glad that Herbal Snuff was helpful in a positive way. @JakartaBoy Thanks for your reviews, we have received the Order request from Mr. Snuff it will be available very soon.
@Manit_Joshi That is great news. I am looking forward to getting some as soon as it arrives @JakartaBoy that sounds really good. Thanks for the review.
Be a good snuff for people who’d like to try a strong natural Indian snuff, but who have been scared off by the likes of Dholakia White or Sparrow. Probably a bit easier to use.
First impressions is creamy, redolent of a Madras i have but not at all musty. Slight sting to the nose and I can feel the vitamin N presence. Easy to use and the backdrip is very tolerable and slightly sweet. Shaman recommended <:-P This sample won’t last me too long and it best be in stock soon. :-w
I got the first (tainted) sample but have not received the untainted one. I don’t know if Manit sent them out or if you had to request it. Regardless, I think I have a good enough idea to pick this one up when it hits the shelves at Mr. Snuff
Dido on the last two comments.
My sample of MADRAS TOAST “A” arrived 3 days ago and I´ve been snuffing since then, the grind is fine, the moisture is low (there´s some in it but not much) and the nicotine level is high. The first aroma that I got on opening the bag is “cigarish” the kind of aroma that remains in a cigarbox when it´s last cigar inside is gone… After taking a pinch I notice that the burn is not painful but present inviting to take it with a bit of care. The nicotine strikes rapid & consistently, on the nose I detect a strong aroma of toasted tobacco and a bit of nuttiness but severely muted. The drip is a bit harsh but tolerable. After blowing it from my nose the smell remaining continues with the cigar note during a pair of minutes. My opinion is that it´s a good product if you like the straight tobacco snuffs with a high nicotine content, if you liked the good old FUBAR GRUNT you will like this. The only drawback for me is that it´s a bit monodimensional, where the other sample I had (it was “B” and tainted with menthol) after blowing the nose left a rich “nutty” note this one continues with the same “cigar” smell, not bad, I just like snuffs that develop in the nose. Thank you @Manit_Joshi for including me in the taste panel!
@Wulfensteinsson Thanks for your reviews and suggestion. We did get few suggestion for mentholated madras but at the same time we got many snuffer asking for non mentholated plain snuff. Hence we finally decided to launch it as plain I am sure you will like it.
@Manit_Joshi how long do you think it will be before Mr. Snuff has the madres in stock. Thanks
@Manit_Joshi -Thanks for the reply…it looks like it is going to be a while @MrSnuff -David help a brother out my friend…let’s pull the trigger on this… Also, @MrSnuff -one thing that I would love to see you add to your site is a “wish list” or “save for later” option (like on Amazon). I would love to go through the site and be able to add the snuffs that have caught my interest to a wish list that I can check as a reminder when I am placing an order and want to throw in a couple tins I have been meaning to try. As a customer I would really like such a feature. I also think it would increase your sales by reminding me of the snuffs I looked at between orders and wanted to try.
@MrSnuff -Dave thanks for the reply. That is great news. I have an order ready to go in my basket and that was the only item I was missing. Thanks for bringing us all the great snuff and for the great customer service. Andrea is A+++
Finally Madras Snuff Consignment has cleared custom and reached U.K.
It could show up on Mr. Snuff Website anytime soon.
