Indonesian Snuff available

Snuff taking in Indonesia Is rare. Kretek clove cigarettes reign supreme and there are many cigar brands too. Pipe smoking has become popular too. But snuff not.

However, a company in Yogyakarta, Central Java,

has just issued 5 varieties of nasal snuff. 20 gr tap tins. US$8 each.

DRUPADI SNUFF
Yama (srintil coarse)
Laksmi (strong mint)
Kuwera (fine original)
Baruna (fruity mint)
Agni (spicy clove)

I’ve ordered them. Will let you know how I find them.

that’s a bit pricey,8$ for 20g?

It is! I guess it’s a small operation and interest will be very small. But the price of the raw ingredient would be very small here. I’ll give it a go.

From the cuts on the labels, you can see that it’s a makeshift. Nevertheless, the packaging is very beautiful and it would be nice to have them in a personal collection. Price is not the worst. I remember one US distributor trying to sell 10g for $7 a few years back (possibly just repackaged Sharrow snuffs).

Good to hear they are still making it. Apparently, the whole range was launched three years ago or so. Check out this thread: Drupadi Snuffs from Indonesia.

That’s interesting. Thanks! It’s been around for 3 or 4 years then. I’m looking forward to trying it.

The design looks very original, I am waiting your review sir. Price seems on par with Viking snuffs I got available locally, not bad for 20g!

Hi Johano. Yes, I’m looking forward to receiving these Indonesian snuffs. They are out of stock of some, so Im waiting for them to let me know when my order is complete. I’ll post a review, of course. Are you from Indonesia. I live in Surabaya. Cheers. Graeme
