since getting into snuff, I find myself experimenting with all the flavours/aromas and would like others input on what they like so as to narrow down what to create from all the possibilities thanks
So are you looking to find your all day snuff ?or find out what ours is ? . or just info on different snuffs ? Google Snuff reviews the site is full of info about what a snuff is like and nicotine content etc . I must add I have yet to find my all day snuff so many to pic that special one lol
I would recommend trying a few of each style. ie. Scotches, Toasts, English, English Rappees and English Medicated, Indian, South African Gwayi, German Schmalzlers, Poschl’s and don’t forget the Dutchmans snuff of which some are unique. I’m sure there are a few must tries that I have missed or that don’t quite fit into simple categories. You have a lot to look forward to. Have fun!
i guess you could say i’m trying to find the perfect scent combination, i have a lot of essential oils that i use in my daily life and after taking up snuff realized i can use them with the snuffs i currently have; mainly looking to see what i can make to use later on for the home grown snuff i’ll be starting up later
It is rather a broad question. Just look at the types and experiment. Surely, what other people like is objectively worthless to you?
I have to agree with Snuffster… It’s YOUR nose so preferences are entirely subjective. It’s all a matter of personal taste – same as for food. The fact that I happen to like Indian and Thai food that burns your mouth out is of no consequence when it comes to what YOU like. Start by buying a wide variety in small quantities. You can then zero in on what appeals to you. What I CAN say is that, since the fine, dry snuffs take some practice; you might want to start with the courser and moister snuffs. Personally… I prefer moister snuffs. You might want to try: Latakia (has a campfire smoky flavor) Schmalzler (fermented German snuff.)
Firstly, do not put essential oils into the snuff. There may be a few that you could and get away with it but I recommend scenting through transference. Second, The use of essential oils only is limited and may be a bit unbalanced as there are many scents that are not available as essential oils that you may want in your “perfection”. Also an essential oil may not be the best option for all scents. Want to make your own snuff? There is a lot of information on this site for you to search out. Give yourself a couple of decades to work out the details, don’t forget to make notes and date and label everything. Have fun!
So many great snuffs out there.Depending on your taste I narrowed mine down to under twenty. careful with oils can easily poison yourself. the head of a cotton swap with one drop work well on 10 plus grams.wormwood oil will cause un-reversible brain damage! do extensive research first. I tried essential orange with some antique Levi Garrett scotch & rappee to bring some life to it.Gave it a sunny disposition but still was like attic dust I will revive it yet maybe with some clarified butter.
thanks guys i shall continue to experiment, and yes i am well aware of using caution with essential oils i use microdroppers and blotter paper. @howdydave: i’m planning on getting Sternecker Echt Fresco and Poschl Schmalzler Perlereuter on my next order with mr. snuff
