Bob - Brit stuff, you’re not missing much…
Thats the problem with brit stuff. You never know how much you’re missing till you ask. Though if you’re on a list unlike this one with really rude brits you do get some funny answers. (somehow they expect the whole world to know every bit of brittish slang and culture). Ah what a convaluted way of saying thank you again.
Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross To see a fine lady upon a white horse With rings on her fingers and bells on her toes She shall have music wherever she goes
@bob,Go Here
Hey Bob, check this out for insanity, use the link above to become the pre-eminent authority in your area on the town of Banbury. You could recite the opening times of the leisure centre to friends and regale them with what acts are on at the civic hall. Maybe start an email dialogue with the local police chief comparing notes and how your area is policed? To clarify I am just getting over a heavy virus and think I have gone off the rails a bit, but it just struck me as a nice piece of surrealism.
@ snuffster: Lol! Ive been going to Banbury a lot recently as its just down the M6 from me and its a really nice town retaining some neat mediaeval architecture. Last time I was there (about a month ago) they were having a big Morris dance in the middle of the town lol. Good stuff! Anyway if you could give me that tobacco shop address, dave, Ill pop in there at the weekend and check their snuff out
Sure buddy they even sell it loose ??? Its at the top of the high street im in town tomor so i will get the number but if you come into banbury from the motorway at the banbury cross roundabout you take the first exit heading into town you immediately get to a zebra crossing then on your left after that their is a flower shop and then the tabacco shop…on the oposite side of the street is martins newsagent… if you get as far down the high street as cash converters you have gone to far down but i will get the number for you .!

Good old Banbury Oxfordshire! A place I most remember as the original location of the maker of Altoids and wonderful Toffee. Never visited it, other than by enjoying the wonderful sweets that come from there.
Thanks for the directions Dave! Incidentally, I noticed last time I was there that there was a lot of Gulliver’s in the cemetery of the big church (st mary’s church) in the centre and sure enough there was a plaque saying that jonathan swift took the name Gulliver (for Gullivers Travels) from tombstones in that churchyard! Gulliver’s a good old Banbury name! A rather random story for you…
