I'm confused vacuumed tins and sp no1 now

Hi well I posted a topic the other day about medicated no99 no longer in vacuumed tins … Now low and behold I goto buy a tin of sp no1 and what do I find it it ??? A vacuumed tin ??? What’s going on, why stop medicated no99 vacuumed tins and start so no1 with it instead or have you always been able to buy it in vaccumed tins ??

Maybe your 99 had lost it’s vacuum?

The menthol in 99 probably helps it stay fresh longer or at least feel fresh longer. At any rate I’m glad to see SP No. 1 still in vac tins.

I was worried they did away with the vacuum tins with sp no1 as well but I’m glad to see it still being used

could be an old tin, I bought a tin of WoS in a tobacconist once and it had the old style health warning on!

@TomStrasbourg if its vacuum sealed you won’t have anything to worry about :slight_smile:

@Skell18 Yeah. I’m afraid that SP no. 1 tin is an old one and the new ones aren’t vacuum sealed. I loved vacuum tins. They’re a pain to open, but it’s worth it knowing my snuff is safe from air.

I bet the next order by Mr Snuff is in the crappy tins. Get the last of them while you can.

@TomStrasbourg I know what you mean. Easy way to open them is to put a coin under the lid and twist, comes off first time every time :wink:

@Oxon they have been that way (vac sealed) for a long time. You probably found an old stock.

I just received my new tin of sp no1 ad its still in a vacuum sealed tin. Unless they switched over and Mr snuff is getting rid of stock.

My recent order of three tins (SP #1) came in the vacuum sealed tins and I was thrilled, as it shortly after hearing that they had done away with the tins for medicated 99. The medicated 99 i got in the same order came in the shitty, horrible tin. I dumped it into one of those tiny mason jars. I wouldn’t mind loosing a vacuum sealed tin if they replaced it with something closer to the new Toque tins. But the one that they’re using now (like the ones they now use for Hedges) are utter crap, hard to open and likely to spill snuff all on your wrist when you’re trying to open it.
