Ilness...

Hey guys, i got myself a pharyngitis from somewhere. (It’s a sore throat) The symptoms really suck and i’m lying in the bed for the third day and bored… I have a question though… I like to snort snuff with a snorter sometimes, so i took an old book and it was dark, so i just dusted it off and put snuff on it and i snorted a line… so could bacteria go into my nose through snuff and could i have gotten sick because of snuff? Another question, do you think i can take snuff while having this ilness?

Taking snuff may help. Snorting off of an old book bad idea. There is lots of things like mildew and other funguses that activly snorting may not be a good idea. Also the ink and the paper maybe a possible irratiant. Don’t snuff off of old books.

thank you for the reply, hehe, won’t do it again.

If I have a sore throat, I find snuff irritates it more.

Some drip/throat drainages from some snuffs can case me a very fleeting very temporary ‘sore throat’ effect, but its specific to certain snuffs and goes away as quickly as it came. I haven’t had a sore throat independent of that since I’ve been snuffing (nearly a year now). I sniff from my snuffbox with little metal snuff tool, snuffbullets, the back of my hand, much more rarely my clothing, my foot, the edge of my desk (in attempting to recover occasional spill mishaps). I am extremely allergic to mold/mold spores, so I suppose if I tried from a musty old book and there were mold spores on it I’d find out right away. I agree with the others and for the reasons they stated too that its probably not a good surface to sniff from. I hope you feel better soon (drink plenty of liquids and do the other usual stuff you know that helps speed it along/make it better)

Snorting snuff from an old book is probably not ideal. I don’t know your technique, and not being a snorter myself, I don’t know how far back the snuff is going. I imagine if is hitting your throat regularly, it is the snuff which has inflamed your throat and left it vulnerable to infection. Moulds and bacteria are everywhere, included fingertips and the back of our hands. Use a snuff spoon if you’re worried. I’d lay off the snuff until the infection has cleared.
