I’m looking for some recommendations, but couldn’t find a thread similar to this.
For example, I’d say if you like Toque Chocolate, you might like Molens Chocomint. Both have a good chocolate flavor (the Molens, of course, with mint), and I like both, but they have a different chocolate flavor from, say, Dholakia Swiss Chocolate.
Other details are helpful, too, such as contrasting the two blends (in my example, the Chocolate and Chocomint have a similar chocolate component, but the Chocomint is a coarser grind).
Specifically, I’m looking right now for things similar to F&T HDT, Toque SP Extra and WoS Sandalwood. To me, these both have very natural, “earthy” scents/flavors to them. I’m planning to order a few different SP’s, but what are some recommendations?
if you like toque berwick brown you need to try wos kendal brown… if american scotchs are your thing try gawith hoggarths irish d they could be twins… but if you like snuff you just have to try abraxas
If you like tobacco snuff you might like guarana snuff. Guarana has a pleasant earthy, woodsy scent and gives a chemically similar lift as caffeine. Too bad snuff makers candy it up for the kids. I purchased some powder from a local ayurvedic herb shop. I’m sure it can be found online. Mixed fifty fifty with snuff, who needs coffee and cigarettes (I’ll still take that break time though)
You can buy pure guaraná powder. It is cheap and available where I live, Brazil - the source of guaraná. Never tried it but must give a stimulating hit not unlike caffeine.
Excellent idea for a thread! Can I make a request? I brought a lot of snuff with me when I moved from the UK to the US, but I had never tried a toast until about a day before I left when I bought a sneezebox of SG Irish D Light. I didn’t have time to go back for more, so that’s the only toast I’ve tried. Are other HDT’s the same? Can I get some reccomenations for when I place an order?
If you like F&T HDT, you may like Conwoods W.E. Garret Scotch. But the Scotch has more of the campfire smell and less of the buttery-nutty flavor. Also - Wilsons IHT #22 or others. SG -Irish D Light etc
If you like SP Extra - May like Wislons Grand Cairo (Wilsons makes a ton of SP’s) Tom Buck may also interest you.
I’m not a big sandalwood fan so I cannot make any recomendations regarding them.
