Hey guys,
Just like the tittle says, if I like HDT, what other blends do you think I would enjoy as well?
all the best!
Hey guys,
Just like the tittle says, if I like HDT, what other blends do you think I would enjoy as well?

Another toast that is very similar is Wilsons of Sharrow Irish High Toast #22.
Different but similar, SWS Lundy Foot is an exemplary toast. as is Old Mill Pure Virginia ToastÂ
I’ve never got around to trying the WoS IHT22. Everyone says it’s similar to HDT, but I already like HDT so much I don’t see the need to fiddle around with it. SWS Havana Toast is different enough, and great. Lundy Foot is much closer, but still different. If you live in the US, try asking Daniel of Old Mill what he recommends. He’s a toast man, so I’m sure he makes something good.
Thank you for your advice!
I just placed an order for some of the SWS snuff and Im very excited to try them!
all the best
I’ll second what people are saying about WoS IHT 22.  I thought I liked the WoS a tad better, but now I really can’t tell the difference.  You might like the flavored Toque toasts - I know I do.  They have that campfire sort of smell that HDT has, plus a little something extra.  I’m a fan of the Almond Toast, Lime Toast, Toast & Marmalade, and USA Whiskey & Honey.  But for a straight up toast, it’s hard to beat that HDT (or IHT 22).
Most other toasts seem quite different, but I’m yet to come across one I don’t like.  Old Mill toasts are way different, and way good - kind of in their own little category. Also (and I’m new enough to where I’m not 100% sure about this) you might like Latakia snuffs.  They have a smokey scent, but I believe it’s due to the nature of the tobacco, and not a toasting process.  I have some Latakia snuffs coming in from De Kralingse Molens, so I’ll know for sure about those within the week.  Old Mill Fire & Ice apparently has that Latakia flavor, with some menthol to oppose it - I like it a lot. Â
@SeanOCDPx Thank you for your answer, I do love latakia. I usually smoke several different latakia blends of pipe tobacco but never had a latakia snuff. I will into it!
ps: do you have some De Kralingse gingerbread to trade?
all the best!
Sorry JazzPipes, I barely have any gingerbread left - definitely not enough to trade anyway. Â
Dont worry my friend! How do you like it?
I heard a lot of good things about it, is it course or powdery? how is the nicotine kick?
Toast fan here. (TL:DR All Toque toasts are brilliant.)
I loved HDT and #22. Â I found toque natural toast to be the equal of the HDT and #22 I got back in 2012( 25 and 50g HDT, 25g #21 and #22). Toque was slightly darker and akin to #22 in scent.
My most recent purchase of 50g HDT is more hay than leather/nutty, and reminds me a lot of Irish D (Not a fan, I remember seeing a video of WOS, which they produced , drying out and making flavored snuffs stale to recycle them into more popular scents… BLAH). The Toque toasts that came last week have the same leather/nutty smell that I love.  Something happened to my WOS HDT!
My favorites:  Toque natural, Old WOS #22/ HDT, Toque lime/WOS Lemon, Toque almond, Toque W&H.
Lundyfoot/Havana are sweeter and remind me a HECK of a lot of the snuffs I made using ground cigars+salt+baking soda+oven(very very similar).  They don’t ring to mind as toasts despite the dry/powdery consistency.
The whites are trash, I gave up on trying to make them anything other than pneumonia (much like scotchs, although I still love a little Brutton).
Thank you for the input!
I heard that F&T bought WoS and now the Irish #22 and the HDT are now the same thing.
Dont quote me on that last part. I only know for sure that WoS and F&T are now 1 big company.
My first MrSnuff order came in yesterday and the can of F&T HDT I ordered came with a sticker of the WoS but with the name “High Dry Toast”
I dont even have interest in going for the white snuff. I love the tobacco!
@JazzPipes - it has a nice scent, which was good especially around Christmas time.  Mine appears to be dry with a medium grind.  I’ve had it for a while now, but if I’m not mistaken, it was on the dry side when it was fresh too.  Easy to take IMO.
@JazzPipes, some snuff described as “white” are in fact pure tobacco and more of a pale tan in colour. They aren’t everyone’s thing, they tend to be extremely fine and strong, with a very sharp flavour that not everyone appreciates, but don’t dismiss them as some kind of fake, non-tobacco product. Personally, I love them. The three main snuffs in that category are White Elephant, Dholakia White and Cheeta. That particular type of snuff is popular in Tibet and Mongolia, both countries with a strong snuff tradition.
Thank you very much for that, my friend.
Perhaps I didnt express myself correctly. I was referring to the really white snuff that is more often than not, non-tobacco snuff.
Im extremely curious to try those you mentioned and I already have them coming through Mrsnuff!Â
@JazzPipes, yes, it sounds like that kind of product can and should be ignored.
You may enjoy Dholakia Toasted Madras. I tend to use plenty of Indian Snuff ,Whites ,Black ,Brown. I also employ Plain American Scotches. I like Sp flavored snuff like Toque original, Samuel Gawith SP high mill no.1,Wilson of Sharrow Tom Buck or Queens extra strong And I add Abraxas St Casura to that list. McChrystals Hops is tops.Hell there are so many great snuffs you may like you could spend thousands finding that holy grail snuff.I know I have
The big Old Mills Latakia snuff is the Old English Toast.
@basement_shaman and @DireWolf
Thank you for your suggestions. I have Madras coming but the Latakia by OM will have to go in cue for the next order!
I don’t see Old English Toast on his menu.  Can you still get it?
@McSnuffy It looks like the 2015 (The Balkan) is a vintage(?) now. Daniel has "Olde English Toast 2016 (Mr.Sandman) on his Ramblings page
W. E. Garret and Sons scotch snuff. I love that stuff.
