If I like GH - Lakeland then.......

Would F&T Bordeaux be a good one to try as well? If not, what would you advise? Thanks.

I’ve NEARLY bought a tub of Lakeland several times over, but always taken it out of the cart to put something else in :-S So unfortunately I’m not much help to you, but I’d appreciate your thoughts on the Lakeland

The ‘Lakeland’ casing is a bit of speciality of the GH tobaccos. As a scent, I personally think that it’s rather hard to pin down exactly; kind floral and outdoorsey? Bordeaux is a nice F&T snuff, but hey! - They’re all good  F&T’s Kendal Brown is a take on the GH style so that might be the best call if you specifically like lakeland essence scent. Worth bearing in mind that there’s no menthol in F&T’s though, and F&T’s have their own charactisic scent/perfume. I find the lakeland scent is detectable in a lot of GH’s blends so more exploration there might be your thing too; Wallflower, Jockey Cluba and Fluerette are all good florals. GH’s arguably do some [if not the] best floral snuffs in the business. Ambassador is a rather under rated spicy type number is you want something a bit different. Good luck, hope you find somthing that suits your tastes

@MisterPaul Good call on the Ambassador. It’s certainly one of the snuffs I never want to be without. Am I right in thinking from your comments that the Lakeland has a hint of menthol? Kind of like Sea Breezes? @Pablo If Kendal Brown has a similar scent, might I also suggest Toque’s Berwick Brown as one to try. It’s one of my absolute favourites

@50ft_trad - Yeah, not sure why we don’t see more of that [Ambassador] on ‘What’s in your Nose’, it a fine blend to be sure. There’s a bit of an odd relationship with Smiths/Covent’s/Snuffstore’s Golden [insert ‘Pinch’ &/or ‘Cardinal’ as appropriate ;-)] - I think that this is actually a very old recipe that has been ‘tweeked’ slghtly over the course of time, by several manufacturers - GH’s used to make some of G. Smith’s blends so that would figure; same snuff different name due to copyright issues I suspect… Yes, lakeland snuff has a little menthol, mostly floral with a little pinch of fresh. I forgot about Berwick Brown - That’s a really good call

Hi. Yes the Lakeland has a menthol tinge, it is floral, fresh and I’m using it as an all dayer. I would, for the sake of a few pounds and it to your order. It is very nice. (And if you don’t like it, well you know). Thanks for the advice, I’ll check out the Bordeaux and the GH range. Thanks.

@MisterPaul @Pablo Thanks guys, I think I’ll add some to my next order
