I have a question...

Has anyone ever sprayed a nice cologne or perfume on a plain snuff?

WTF! Why?

Never even crossed my mind.

Because I have a cologne that I love and I want it in my nose. Haha

I don’t know whats in cologne but my feeling is that you don’t want it literally in your nose?

I believe that yes Poschl did that with their Packards Club snuff.

I have an extremely hard to find mens eau de cologne made by Guerlain called “Imperiale” that I would love to use to scent snuff. It’s got a unique aroma of sweet grapefruit and lemon, and is considered by women throughout the world as the LHB signature scent. Whenever I’m in Biaritz or Gstaad, they don’t even have to anounce me when I show up for one of the more popular salons. To the best of my knowledge it’s only carried by Nieman Marcus in the states, and I buy it in bulk. I currently have a 250 ml container which I now notice is almost gone, which isn’t doing anything for my piece of mind. I could have swore I had a back up container, but I think I left it in the secret compartment of my Aston Martin Vanquish. On the other hand, that Hai Karate from the 1960s would be really groovy too.

ditto pricey colognes by Creed, all hanmade from real essential oils. no chemicals

Any of you ever read Huysmans’ À rebours?

This isn’t helping me, guys.

Kidnapper, I think you have your answer. I think it’s going to be up to you to set aside some Toque Natural and start experimenting. If it helps, I’m not mocking you for the question. On the face of it it does seem strange until one considers the more highly scented snuffs out there. Godspeed Kidnapper! Come back safely from your journey to a realm where most fear to tread!

I think if you’re going to try it you should definitely only use the ‘scent by relative hanging out with it’ method (or whatever that’s called), the one where you stick an item with the scent (the cologne in this case) only *near* the target snuff, to have the both of them (snuff and cologne dampened item) in a closed container together for some time, spray the cologne on a piece of papertowel, etc, put the opened snuff tin in a larger container with the papertowel piece also inside the larger airtight with but *outside* of the tin. Do not risk spraying the cologne directly onto the snuff.

Well then I shall return in an hour or so. I am trained in the art of proper snuff flavouring so I should be ok. If I should not return…then carry on my legacy!

It occurred to me, for no particular reason, that there are various potions using tobacco as part of their scent. Perhaps it’s not surprising that “Tabac” is one of them. I wonder…no. Kidnapper, you’re on your own here.

I just really hope he at least used the ‘scent by osmosis’ (or whatever its called) method instead of what he asked in the original post: “Has anyone ever sprayed a nice cologne or perfume on a plain snuff?

@ Kojoerup: yes i read that book. it was quite illuminating, as i recall.
