Its been over 7months since I quit smoking cigarettes and each day I had to look at 2-1/2 cartons of cigarettes every time I open my Cabinet I have a lot of will power but today I gave in to temptation and opened a pack, what the heck I’m going to make me some snuff. I took apart 10 cigarettes and put the tobacco in my toaster oven for around 15mins@375deg till the tobacco started smelling toasted. I ground it up and got about 6gms of snuff from the 10 cigs. I tell you it turned out pretty good, it has a very nice toasted tobacco smell, like when you would light a cigarette using a glowing red automobile lighter. The other 10 cigs I,m going to just grind up, no toasting so I can check out the differences. I will probably end up grinding up the 2.5 cartons. The way I figure it is if I can get about 12gms a pack that’s about 120gms each carton, should end up with 300gms.
Hey Thats a great idea! 300grms is quite a bit of snuff. Did you taper off the smokes or just switch over completly? What brand of cigs were they? must of really took some willpower not to smoke them. Good job.
The first week of trying to quit was hard I smoked a few but then after that it was all cold turkey. I used snus and Aeros smokeless cigarettes to help me quit. Then after the first month of quitting cigs a bought some snuff to try when I made an order for snus at Northener. Turns out that I like snuffing and started snusing a lot less. The cigs I ground up were Bronco 100s full flavors Colombian blend
Nice. I made some snuff a couple of times out of some cigarette tobacco, but I also tried with a few cigars which I actually found outside of a bowling alley. The latter were a good nicotine hit, but to overbearing, even compared to scotch snuffs.
The very idea of cigarette tobacco revolts me. Of course I went cold turkey and quit cigarettes. The very idea of adulterated chemical tobacco makes me nauseous.
Cigarette tobacco can make some good snuff. Seems to have as much vitamin N as any other. Organic roll your own tobacco without the added chemicals works well.
